Recently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, announced the conditional admission scores for early admission methods such as priority admission and competency assessment scores. Previously, many schools also announced the admission scores for early admission methods, helping many candidates "secure" admission to universities and colleges and enter the high school graduation exam with a "lightened burden".
Relieved by early admission
At the exam site of Duc Tri Secondary School (District 1), Nhu Y, a student of Ernst Thälmann High School (District 1), said that about a month ago, she received early admission to the marketing major of Hong Bang University through the priority admission method, so now she is completely relaxed and no longer under pressure from exams.
Nhu Y (right cover) confessed that she did not feel pressured to take the exam because she was admitted early.
"But I'm still nervous because this is a big competition," the female student shared, adding that although she doesn't have a specific work in mind, she also focuses on The Ferryman on the Da River , and hopes that the social essay question will be on the topic of cyber violence because there have been many related incidents recently.
Nearby, a parent whose child is studying at Asia International Primary, Secondary and High School said that her child had just been admitted early to a graphic design major at a school in Ho Chi Minh City thanks to the method of considering academic records.
Female parent (2nd from right) expressed joy because her child had a "landing place" before the high school graduation exam.
"At that time, my child jumped up with joy and said he would take the exam without any worries. Personally, I think the university entrance exam these years is not as fierce as before," the female parent who has taken her child to take the exam three times, this time it was her youngest child, confided.
Similarly, at the exam site of Ban Co Secondary School (District 3), Huynh Le Nhu An, a student at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (District 3), said he was "overjoyed" when he passed the investment economics major by considering his transcript and only needed enough graduation points to become a new student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.
Parents accompany their children during the exam registration procedure this afternoon (June 27).
"When I got the early admission results, I felt relieved and happy because according to the previous year's standard score, I had to get 26 points, which means I had to get an average of 8-9 points per subject to pass. Getting 7-8 points wouldn't be difficult if I was careful, but getting 8-9 points would be much more challenging, so I was under a lot of pressure. Luckily, I've now been able to 'remove' it," the female student said.
Still worried
Because he had planned to study abroad in advance and the school only considered the average score of the subjects in class, Lam Vinh Hong, a student at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, only felt pressure during the second semester exam period, but is now preparing to enter the high school graduation exam with the most relaxed mentality. "I only need an average score of 3.46 in 6 subjects to graduate," Hong said with a smile.
Many candidates came to the exam site with a relaxed and happy mood.
However, the male student confided that parents often want their children to get good grades, so they also spend time studying to avoid receiving too low a score. "After completing the high school graduation exam, I will continue to complete my study abroad application, and at the same time look for new experiences and jobs before 'taking off' abroad," Vinh Hong said.
On the other hand, Nguyen Phuong Dung, a student at Quoc Oai High School ( Hanoi ), shared that although she passed the literature major at Hanoi National University of Education, she still has not "given up" because this is not her desired wish. "I hope to achieve the best results in the upcoming exams to pursue a career in literature pedagogy," Dung hoped.
A female student listens to her parent's advice before entering the exam site.
Sharing the same sentiment, Bui Ngoc Thao Vy, a student at Ernst Thälmann High School, also wants to become a new student majoring in literature at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. "I have taken the competency assessment test but am not confident with my current score, so I am quite stressed preparing for this exam. But I believe I have prepared myself well and will try my best to achieve my desired aspiration," the female student affirmed.
