Admission with many international certificates
In 2026, the University of Technology - Vietnam National University , Hanoi plans to enroll 20 training majors with 4,020 targets, remaining stable compared to the previous year.
The school considers admission based on the following methods: Direct admission; considering the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam; considering the results of the competency assessment test (HSA) organized by Hanoi National University; considering the international competency assessment certificate SAT.

In the admission method based on high school graduation exam scores, in most majors, schools use 3 combinations: A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry); A01 (Math, Physics, English); X06 (Math, Physics, IT). In particular, the two majors of Biotechnology and Agricultural Technology add combination A02 (Math, Physics, Biology).
Compared to 2025, the school will no longer consider admission based on the following combinations: D01 (Math, Literature, English); B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology); X26 (Math, English, IT). The combinations the school plans to use for admission in 2026 all have two common subjects: Math and Physics.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that this year the school will maintain a stable enrollment target of about 9,880 students and maintain 3 stable enrollment methods, including: Talented enrollment method, Thinking Assessment exam score-based enrollment method, and High School Graduation Exam score-based enrollment method.
In the method of talent selection, the school reserves admission quotas based on international certificates. The candidates for selection are candidates with an average score of 8.0 or higher in each year of grade 10, 11, and 12; and have at least one of the following international certificates: SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB.
For international certificates with subject component scores assessed in letter system, the conversion table to numerical scores is as follows:

In 2026, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology plans to enroll about 8,000 students. The school maintains 5 stable admission methods; including 2 methods: Admission based on the results of the International Proficiency Assessment Certificate (SAT/ACT Certificate); admission combining the International English Certificate (IELTS, TOEFL Certificate) with the results of high school study.
Add "ticket" to university
As many universities use SAT scores for admission, more and more students are focusing on studying for the SAT to "guarantee" their place in college.
SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a popular standardized test, often used for admission to universities in the US, Europe... The test consists of three parts: Reading, Language and Mathematics, with a total score of 1,600.
The SAT is entirely in English. Therefore, English proficiency is crucial to doing well on the test. A good starting point for SAT test takers is IELTS 6.0 to 6.5. Therefore, students need to practice and equip themselves with good foreign language skills before starting to prepare for the SAT.
Experts say that the current quota for SAT admissions at universities is very small, so students need to find out whether their SAT scores are equivalent to the SAT scores that were accepted into majors at universities in previous years to set appropriate aspirations.
In addition, universities may have additional requirements such as GPA, academic performance, conduct... or combine SAT test results with high school graduation exam scores.
According to the 2025 enrollment plan announced by universities, with an SAT score of 1,200, candidates can apply to many schools that accept this admission method.
Dr. Nguyen Phi Long - Head of Training Department of Vietnam Women's Academy noted that at this time, candidates need to proactively and regularly update the 2026 enrollment information announced by the Ministry of Education and Training , especially the differences compared to the 2025 enrollment period. At the same time, they need to carefully study the enrollment plans of the schools they intend to register, pay attention to the admission conditions and additional criteria (if any) to compare with their own abilities and records.
“When the official regulations are issued, candidates should consult with teachers, family and friends to receive appropriate advice. Once they have determined the schools they want to apply to, they need to focus on studying well to achieve the best results,” Dr. Nguyen Phi Long emphasized.
The Ministry of Education and Training requires universities and colleges to develop enrollment plans and promptly announce information so that students have a plan to study and review for the 2026 high school graduation exam.
