ASEAN Cyber Shield (ACS) 2023 is a competition to discover and nurture cybersecurity talent, co-organized by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), with a total prize of 77,000 USD. This year's competition takes place in Jakarta (Indonesia), from November 21 to November 24.
37 teams from 10 countries in the region compete in 2 groups. The General group is open to many groups of contestants, while the Student group is for university students.
Round 1 requires teams to challenge each topic, then select 5 teams with the highest scores from each group. The teams continue to compete in round 2 with the form of attack and defense (Attack - Defense).
In this round, the organizers present realistic scenarios of hackers attacking the system. Contestants play the role of security specialists whose task is to fight against external attacks while still ensuring the system's operation.
