This morning, July 4, Hong Bang International University (HCMC) organized a job fair for the health sector with the participation of hospitals and pharmacy systems.

Here, final year students majoring in pharmacy, nursing, laboratory technology, rehabilitation, dentistry... submitted their applications and participated in direct interviews with employers.

Demand for human resources in the health sector is increasing

Nursing Doctor Cam Ngoc Thuy, Head of Nursing Department of Military Hospital 175 , said that in 2025, this hospital needs to recruit 35 bachelors and 5 masters of nursing, expected to increase to 50 bachelors and 10 masters by 2026.

Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoc Ha, Deputy Head of Nursing Department at Children's Hospital 2, also informed that the demand for nurses is increasing sharply. The hospital has a paid apprenticeship policy to support students in the process of completing their practice certificates, as well as participating in short-term and postgraduate training courses abroad to improve their professional capacity.

"The estimated starting salary is 12-14 million VND/month, excluding occupational and hazardous allowances," said Ms. Ngoc Ha.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chu Viet Hung, Brand Manager of Pharmacy System Recruitment Pharmacity shared: "The system is recruiting more than 100 pharmacist positions in Ho Chi Minh City and 200 positions in other provinces and cities, with a clear career path from interns to management positions with salaries from 10 - 15 million VND/month".

Training the ability to overcome difficulties - a vital factor in the medical industry

At the discussion session, Dr. Cam Ngoc Thuy emphasized: "Medical students not only need IQ and EQ but also AQ - the ability to overcome difficulties, to adapt to a high-pressure environment."

According to Ms. Thuy, students need to be adaptable, proactive in learning, and ready to change to keep up with the pace of modern medicine. This is a key factor that helps doctors and nurses stand firm in a high-pressure environment.

Sharing the same view, hospital representatives affirmed that for the health sector, professional knowledge is a necessary condition, but soft skills such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking and a sense of responsibility are sufficient conditions for success.

Sharing about the issue of whether AI can replace human resources in the medical industry, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Dung, Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Training - Continuing Education at Hong Bang International University, said that artificial intelligence only plays a supporting role and cannot replace the hands, brains and hearts of doctors.

"The analysis process can be assigned to machines, but the final decision must still come from a specialist," Associate Professor, Dr. Phuong Dung affirmed.

According to Master and PhD student Tran Thuy Tram Quyen, Vice Principal of Hong Bang International University, the job fair is part of the training strategy linked to practice that the school is pursuing.

"We don't wait for students to graduate before looking for jobs. Right from their second year, students have the opportunity to do internships, meet employers, adjust their learning attitudes and practice skills to prepare for their career journey," said Ms. Quyen. The school currently has more than 500 partners, of which more than 50 are large hospitals and medical facilities in and outside the country, according to Ms. Quyen.
