Solar street lights

In order to improve the quality of the new rural criteria of bright - green - clean - beautiful, helping people travel safely, recently, the People's Committee of Toan Thang commune, Kim Dong district invested in a solar lighting system connecting from National Highway 39A to Dong An village with a total of 34 light clusters.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chuyen, Chairman of Toan Thang Commune People's Committee (Kim Dong) said: This solar street light system alone helps Toan Thang commune save about 7 million VND/month compared to using conventional electric lights. The advantage of the solar lighting system is that it does not require wiring, is easy to install, convenient to operate and more cost-effective than using grid electricity.

Solar lighting devices are often called solar lights, which operate on the principle of absorbing sunlight through photosensitive panels, converting it into electrical energy stored in batteries for lighting. Each set of solar lights can store electricity and light for 10-12 hours.

Hung Yen province is affected by a tropical monsoon climate, hot and humid, with lots of sunshine. The average number of sunshine hours per year is about 1,400 - 1,500 hours. High temperatures combined with many sunshine hours are favorable conditions for installing solar power systems for businesses and households.

Recently, hundreds of businesses, agencies and households in the province have installed and used solar lighting equipment or rooftop solar power systems instead of using grid electricity for production and daily life.
