According to the People's Committee of Can Gio commune ( Ho Chi Minh city), one of the special and important activities of the Can Gio Whale Festival 2025 is the Whale Festival on the sea and welcoming the Whale Festival group to the Whale Temple.

From early morning, at the locations of Lang Ong Thuy Tuong, Ben do co me, Ben do Tac Xuat, hundreds of boats were splendidly decorated with five-color flags, paper flowers and the Whale symbol placed solemnly at the bow of the boat to participate in the Whale Welcome Ceremony at sea to show the fishermen's respect for the god of the sea.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Can Gio Commune, Head of the Festival Steering Committee said that the Whale Festival on the sea (also known as the Whale Worshiping Ceremony) is one of the most anticipated folk rituals by the people of Can Gio coastal area in the annual Whale Festival in Can Gio.

This is also a cultural beauty, indispensable in the life of Can Gio people praying for favorable weather and bountiful crops.

Can Gio Whale Festival is held periodically on the 14th, 15th and 16th of the 8th lunar month every year since 1913. It was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2013.
