Venerable Thich Dam Hoa - a shining example of good life and good religion

Venerable Thich Dam Hoa - who has made great contributions to the construction, renovation and embellishment of Tuong Van Pagoda - a national historical and cultural relic, which is increasingly complete and attractive, recognized as a "Model and progressive pagoda".

With the belief of living her life according to the motto "Buddhism - Nation - Socialism", Venerable Thich Dam Hoa, Alternate Member of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Thanh Hoa Province, Abbot of Giang Pagoda (Tuong Van Pagoda), Vinh Loc Town (Vinh Loc); Delegate of the People's Council of Thanh Hoa Province, terms XIII, XIV, XV; Member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Hoa Province, always cultivates, trains, studies, takes the precepts as a teacher, always educates Buddhist followers to work towards fulfilling their obligations to family, society and country.

With her compassionate heart and concrete and practical actions, Venerable Thich Dam Hoa is one of the shining examples of harmoniously combining religious and secular work. Venerable Thich Dam Hoa is also a person who has made great contributions to the construction, restoration and embellishment of Tuong Van Pagoda - a national historical and cultural relic that is increasingly complete and attractive, recognized as a "Progressive and exemplary landscape pagoda". The Venerable also actively participates in patriotic emulation movements launched by local authorities and the Vietnam Fatherland Front; responds and effectively participates in movements such as: Mobilizing support for building houses for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties according to Directive No. 22 dated March 30, 2024 of the Standing Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee. Organizing a one-day retreat for Buddhists to better understand Buddhist teachings and live a good life. Organizing charity kitchens and bowls of charity porridge for poor patients at Vinh Loc District General Hospital. Giving Tet gifts to poor households during the Lunar New Year. Sponsoring orphans, children in difficult circumstances, and children with serious illnesses in the district. Giving gifts on Children's Day and Mid-Autumn Festival to children. Contributing to the New Rural Development Program in Vinh Loc town; supporting the fund for the elderly in Vinh Loc district; donating to the fund to repay the gratitude to families of war invalids and martyrs, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families with meritorious services to the revolution; supporting the fund for the poor, the Red Cross fund, Agent Orange, supporting the blind; supporting flood relief in localities when facing natural disasters, fires, etc.

Venerable Thich Dam Hoa shared: During my practice, I have been supported by functional agencies, localities, monks, nuns, and Buddhists, creating conditions for me to participate in social activities, helping the poor, contributing to the development of my homeland. As a Buddhist religious dignitary, I have always been exemplary and encouraged monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, the Church's Charter, and the Executive Committee's Regulations, to build and implement regulations on civilized lifestyles in the community, to build cultural villages, and to build new rural areas.

With her dedication to the Dharma and the nation, bringing compassion and wisdom to the community, Venerable Thich Dam Hoa has been highly appreciated by all levels and sectors and awarded many noble awards such as: Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Provincial Buddhist Association; Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Thanh Hoa Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Commemorative Medal for the cause of the Vietnam Red Cross, Medal "For the cause of preserving national culture" and many other noble awards... In 2025, she was awarded the Third-class Labor Medalby the President for her outstanding achievements in Buddhist work, social security, humanitarian charity, contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
