On May 19, the Ministry of Public Security informed that the leaders of the Immigration Department issued a decision to temporarily suspend the officers involved in tearing up a tourist's boarding pass.

Specifically, immediately after receiving information about the immigration control officer of Phu Quoc International Airport Police tearing up the boarding pass of a family member of a female tourist of Taiwanese nationality (China) while completing exit procedures at Phu Quoc Airport, the leader of the Immigration Department, Ministry of Public Security issued a Decision to temporarily suspend the officers involved in completing exit procedures on May 13, 2025 at Phu Quoc International Airport Police to consider responsibility and handle related individuals according to industry regulations.
