According to the Ba Be Regional Power Management Team, in the communes of Ba Be, Thuong Minh, Cho Ra, and Phuc Loc, prolonged rain and floods have caused flooding in many places, causing a number of transformer stations to be flooded or affected, dozens of electric poles to fall or tilt, causing complete power outages from October 7 to 11, with equipment damage estimated at about VND850 million.

Immediately after the flood receded, the regional electricity sector mobilized human resources and mechanical vehicles to inspect and fix the problems.

Mr. Hua Duc Giap, Party Secretary of Pac Ngoi village, Ba Be commune, said: After the floodwaters rose, from October 7, the entire village lost power, nearly 100 households in the village had to use flashlights and oil lamps, some households living on high ground and having the means used generators running on gasoline engines.

Some areas in Bang Thanh, Cao Minh, Cho Ra communes... also suffered heavy damage. Many electric poles were knocked down, wires were blown away, especially in remote communes where many households lost power, affecting communication, study and production. The Electricity sector urgently mobilized human resources, divided into many groups to move along the route, and handle the incident.

As the water receded, electricity workers came to check, repair and fix it.

Mr. Hoang Xuan Thinh, an officer of the Ba Be Regional Electricity Management Team, shared: Immediately after the water receded, we proactively checked and reviewed flooded areas, cleaned electricity meters, replaced equipment damaged by flooding, checked the electrical systems of houses... and quickly restored electricity to areas that were checked to ensure safety.

Some locations with major damage are also being urgently repaired by the unit to soon provide electricity to serve the people's lives, activities and production. By the end of October 11, all customers managed by the Ba Be Electricity Management Team had their electricity restored.

Since storm No. 11, regardless of holidays, officials and employees of the Electricity sector have been going to localities to review, inspect and repair the power system after the flood. For other areas, mainly areas where the water is slowly receding or where major incidents are particularly difficult and traffic is cut off, the Electricity sector has coordinated with local authorities and people to transport materials and equipment to repair the situation.

In parallel with restoring household electricity, power units also prioritize supplying electricity to medical stations, schools and communication systems. These are key areas that need to be restored soon to serve rescue work and stabilize people's lives.

Thanks to the drastic and urgent intervention of the Electricity sector, up to now, basically the highland communes affected by the flood have had electricity restored.
