The Prime Minister warmly congratulated and commended the 33 projects participating in the 2023 national final round and the authors of the winning projects of the competition; highly appreciated the initiative of the Vietnam Women's Union in choosing the theme of the 2023 competition as "Women starting a business, promoting local resources"; not only promoting start-ups, but also preserving traditional culture, creating products and services that increase the value of local resources, minimizing environmental impacts, and bringing job opportunities to local communities.
The organization of the Contest is very methodical and scientific, from the stages of launching the contest, evaluating, selecting, training, nurturing ideas/projects to organizing the contest in 3 regions of North, Central, and South to select the best projects for the final round.

The Prime Minister was very impressed by the bold and innovative ideas of women's start-up projects, especially their enthusiasm and concern for restoring traditional occupations that are at risk of disappearing; promoting the tourism resources of their homeland; using everything that nature has to offer, from village bamboo hedges, hometown rice grains, herbs... to heroic historical traditions, local identity... to create products with high economic value, imbued in each product with the unique features of Vietnamese culture (such as the Thuy Tuyet rattan and bamboo cooperative project of Ms. Truong Thi Bach Thuy, Soc Trang province; the project of applying high technology to the production and development of organic brown rice milk of Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Linh in Vinh Phuc, which won a special prize...).
"I especially appreciate the outstanding efforts of women in mountainous areas, ethnic minorities, women with disabilities, women who come from very difficult and unfortunate circumstances... but with extraordinary will and determination, they have risen up, overcome themselves, demonstrated a strong entrepreneurial spirit and aspiration to rise up in life. I really admire, am touched and proud of you!", the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister mentioned the project to preserve national cultural identity through Khau Xen and Chi Chop cakes of Ms. Lo Chuc Chi, Thai ethnic group, Dien Bien province; the startup project of the small woman Bui Thi Yen Nhi, full of creativity with the production and business model of wax flowers (Hoa Ut Nhi)...

To successfully implement the objectives of the Project to Support Women in Starting a Business and strongly spread the start-up movement among women, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, localities and Women's Unions at all levels to implement a number of important contents.
Accordingly, ministries, branches, localities, enterprises and banks continue to research and perfect institutions, mechanisms and policies to create the most favorable environment and conditions for women to start businesses, especially mechanisms to support capital, legal advice, training to improve comprehensive capacity for women, connecting product consumption, promoting trade for women to start businesses...
Along with that, strongly develop the national startup and innovation ecosystem, paying attention to a separate ecosystem for women startups; form and effectively promote a network of experts, creative startup consultants, investors, domestic and international investment funds to support women's startup ideas/projects.
Continue to research and perfect institutions, mechanisms and policies to create the most favorable environment and conditions for women to start businesses.
The Prime Minister requested to expand the scope of activities and beneficiaries of start-up investment funds at all levels so that more women can access the funds, ensuring resources to realize start-up ideas and projects. Banks should research and develop appropriate product packages and incentives for start-up and innovation projects, including those of women.
Strengthening the mobilization of social resources and international cooperation for women's start-up and innovation activities through forums, fairs, businesses, and investment funds; supporting supply-demand connections, promoting, introducing, and using women's start-up and innovation products.
The Prime Minister emphasized 5 important contents to promote the women's start-up movement: Linking the start-up movement with innovation to create value, new products, new motivation for the community and society; linking with research, application of science and technology, brand building and protection of intellectual property rights; linking with regional and local planning; start-ups must be supported by businesses and banks in terms of market and capital; receiving attention, support, assistance, encouragement and facilitation from Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and people's organizations.
Regarding the Vietnam Women's Union, the Prime Minister suggested further strengthening effective and practical activities to support women in starting businesses; focusing on organizing movements, forums, and activities to commend and honor women to encourage, motivate, inspire, and spread the desire for starting businesses and innovation among women of all walks of life...
According to the President of the Vietnam Women's Union Ha Thi Nga, after 6 years of implementing the Project, with the attention and facilitation of the Government, the support of localities, ministries and branches, and the persistent efforts of the Women's Union at all levels, over 80,000 women's business ideas have been supported; over 70,000 women have boldly started businesses and businesses; nearly 5,000 cooperatives/cooperatives managed by women have been established; over 60,000 newly established women's businesses have been consulted to improve their capacity and supported to connect resources for development.
The most prominent of the Project's activities is the Women's Startup Competition. In 2023, the provincial and municipal reception and screening round of the competition had 2,024 startup projects/ideas participating in the competition (an increase of 30.67% compared to the 2021 competition). The national final award ceremony of the competition honored the 33 most outstanding startup projects, including 1 special prize, 3 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 19 consolation prizes, with a total prize value of over 2.3 billion VND.
Of the 33 projects, 13 are projects of collective economic models managed by women and creating jobs for female workers, 14 are projects of enterprises owned by women, 6 are projects of individual business households. In particular, there are 02 projects of women with disabilities and 7 projects of ethnic minority women.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union launched the 2024 Women's Startup Competition with the theme "Women's Creative Startups and Green Transformation".
