U8 and U10 Muong Lat brought many beautiful images to this year's tournament.
230km journey and the children's first time on the street
Muong Lat is the team that has traveled the farthest distance to participate in the tournament. More than 230km from the border area to Quang Xuong district, with many children traveling by car for the first time, leaving their families for the first time to wear the team shirt representing the district - that journey is not just a walk, but a memorable milestone in their childhood.
Behind the passionate running steps is the journey of overcoming difficulties of the entire Muong Lat team.
Coach Vi Van Canh, the “captain” of the U8 and U10 Muong Lat football teams, shared: “100% of the children get carsick because they are not used to traveling far. Living conditions, food, and health are all big challenges, but the eager eyes of the children when they first set foot in the Quang Xuong district gymnasium are still the biggest motivation for us to try.”
Aspiration from hardship
In Muong Lat, practicing football is not easy. Communes are dozens of kilometers apart, and playing fields are lacking. It was not until March this year that the district had its first artificial turf field, just enough to help the children practice before the tournament.
For coach Vi Van Canh (in white shirt), the Thanh Hoa Newspaper Children's Football Tournament is a playground that helps young players fulfill their dreams.
“Although it is difficult, for the children, participating in the Thanh Hoa Newspaper Children's Football Tournament is a joy and a great honor. We come here not to focus on winning or losing. The most important thing is that the children can compete, have experience, and have a beautiful memory in their lives,” Coach Canh said emotionally.
A solid foundation for children to shine
Behind the young players of Muong Lat are the silent figures of their mothers. Ms. Ha Thi Hoang, a parent and also a fan, could not hide her emotions: “Each child has a parent accompanying them to compete. We go with our children to take care of their meals, sleep, and encourage them to overcome the nervousness of participating in such a big tournament.”
Not only families, the Muong Lat community living and working in Thanh Hoa City and neighboring provinces also came to the stadium to cheer. The cheers and encouragement of Muong Lat fans left a special mark at the Thanh Hoa Newspaper Children's Football Tournament this year.
Ms. Ha Thi Hoang and the parents of Muong Lat team did not mind the long distance to follow and support their children at the tournament.
For Muong Lat football team, what remains is not the result, but the dreams that have taken flight.
The journey of the U8 and U10 Muong Lat football teams in this year's tournament has officially ended after 3 days of competition in the group stage. However, what remains is not the result, but the dreams that have taken flight, the football aspirations nurtured in the highlands, the clear laughter and sparkling eyes of the young players stepping onto the official field for the first time.
Coach Van Canh said: “I hope that districts and units, despite difficulties, will try to participate. Because this is not only a sports tournament, but also to make the children's childhood have a beautiful mark.”
