In 2018, MD2 pineapple was planted on a pilot basis by Buu Long - Lung Ngoc Hoang Agricultural Cooperative, Phuong Binh Commune, on an area of 4.5 hectares. Now, the area has increased to 120 hectares, with 56 members participating. Each year, over 6,000 tons of fruit are sold to the market, earning a profit of 120-150 million VND/ha.
Mr. Lam Van Lam, Director of the Cooperative, said: “The cooperative’s pineapple area is located on the road leading to Lung Ngoc Hoang Nature Reserve, which is very suitable for developing eco -tourism . Realizing the potential for exploiting and developing community tourism, the Cooperative has planted water lilies and lotus, combined with raising freshwater fish, and processed dishes and drinks made from pineapple to serve visitors.”

Some tourist destinations are being renovated and expanded, such as Lung Ngoc Hoang Nature Reserve, which has planned a 20-hectare buffer zone to serve as a stopover and sell the province's OCOP products, traditional products, and souvenirs, expected to be implemented when Provincial Road 926B is completed at the end of 2025 with a budget of about 250 billion VND, calling for large potential investors to invest in the tourist area here. For the Spring Tourist Area, the enterprise has approved a 1/500 scale plan with a scale of 70 hectares, with a total investment capital of about 1,500 billion VND...
In addition to the great potential tourist spots, Phung Hiep district has built 10 community tourism spots with investment capital from businesses and people of more than 11 billion VND. Major transportation projects being implemented in the district include 2 expressways and provincial roads connecting to the district, which will help Phung Hiep tourism develop to its full potential.
Assessing the results of the implementation of Resolution No. 05, Mr. Nguyen Van Vui, Secretary of Phung Hiep District Party Committee, said: “After 3 years of implementation, certain results have been achieved in both the fields of agriculture and tourism. Previously, there were very few tourism establishments in the district, but now the locality has a number of well-developed tourist destinations, although small in scale, attracting many tourists, such as Tu Sang Bamboo Garden in Thanh Hoa Commune, Spring Tourist Area in Tan Phuoc Hung Commune…”.
Focusing on developing sustainable agriculture associated with tourism, in the coming time, Phung Hiep district will orient to build a model of agricultural production applying high technology, safety, organic in the direction of large-scale commodity production, highly competitive, environmentally friendly and adaptable to climate change, protecting the ecological environment. Focus on developing the district's key crops, livestock and aquatic products associated with planning to form specialized, high-quality areas. Continue to promote investment in infrastructure (electricity, roads, dredging of canal systems) to create open and favorable conditions for businesses to invest and consume products. Focus on investing, exploiting and developing existing agricultural tourism spots and routes to create highlights to promote products and brands of the region in rural tourism. Continue to consolidate and improve the quality of the cooperative economic sector, especially cooperatives.
This is considered a prerequisite task for "Sustainable agricultural development associated with rural tourism", as well as forming a chain of links between businesses and people to develop agriculture sustainably...
