These days, the weather in Ha Tinh is very cold, so people's demand for shopping and using cold-proof products has increased, especially warm clothes, heating lamps, heating fans, blankets, electric mattresses...
At this time, every day Dien May Xanh supermarket (Ha Huy Tap street) sells nearly 30 heater products.
Ha Tinh is experiencing the coldest days since the beginning of winter. The temperature has dropped, the lowest temperature is commonly between 11.5 - 12.5 degrees Celsius. To cope with the cold, many people are rushing to buy items to keep their bodies warm.
At Dien May Xanh supermarket (Ha Huy Tap street, Ha Tinh city), the consumption of heating lamps and fan heaters has started to increase in the past 3 days. Mr. Nguyen Van Duc - supermarket manager said: "In the past 3 days, on average, we have sold nearly 30 heating products per day, not to mention the amount sold online on the Dien May Xanh system. Heaters and fan heaters are diverse in design, price and brand. The common price of lamps and fan heaters ranges from 400,000 to over 1 million VND; some high-end products with improved designs cost 2-3 million VND. These prices have been reduced by 10-60% (depending on the product) according to the supermarket's stimulus discount program".
Lamps and heaters are commonly priced from 400,000 to over 1 million VND.
Electrical appliance stores in the area around Ha Tinh City Market have also recorded an increase in customers looking to buy heating devices. Retailers said that heating lamps and fans for rooms or bathrooms are seasonal products, and customers usually only look to buy them when it is very cold. This year, this is the first time these products have sold well and the prices of the devices that many customers buy range from 300,000 to 700,000 VND/unit.
In contrast to the quiet, sluggish atmosphere of last week, at this time, fashion stores are crowded with customers shopping for warm clothes and pants. According to many business owners, this year winter came late, from early to mid-December the weather was still not cold, so shop owners were quite worried when winter goods had been imported. However, when the weather turned cold, customers flocked to the store, so shop owners continued to import additional goods to serve shoppers.
Purchasing power at Savani fashion store from December 20 to now has increased by more than 50% compared to normal days.
At Savani fashion store (Phan Dinh Phung street, Ha Tinh city), thanks to the combined business of men's, women's and children's fashion with a large number of products, diverse designs and average prices, it attracts a large number of customers to shop.
Ms. Hoang Ngoc Anh - store manager said: "The weather is cold so customers buy a lot of things. Purchasing power from December 20th to now has increased by more than 50% compared to normal days. The main products chosen by customers are down jackets, wool coats, sweaters, warm pants, windbreakers, fleece sets... Besides the weather factor, the promotional program with discounts from 10 - 70%, along with gifts, lucky draws on the occasion of Christmas are also factors contributing to increasing purchasing power at this time."
Life jackets, sweaters, fleeces... are chosen by many people to cope with the current cold weather.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thao Linh (Tran Phu Ward, Ha Tinh City) said: “The weather suddenly got cold, especially in the morning when I went to work, it was freezing cold, so I had to buy extra long down jackets and turtleneck sweaters to cope with this year's winter. Seeing that the weather forecast was very cold, I also bought an oil heater for 800,000 VND to put in the bedroom to warm my family at night.”
In addition to heating equipment and warm fashion, blanket and mattress stores are also in a bustling business season. According to store owners, the most popular products are still electric blankets and mattresses. Prices of these items at this time have not fluctuated much compared to previous years.
Wool blankets and electric mattresses are best-selling products during this cold spell.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bao Ngoc - an employee at Dung Phuong bedding store (Xuan Dieu Street, Ha Tinh City) said: "The psychology of many consumers is to wait until the cold season to buy products to keep warm. This year, this is the first cold spell, so the number of customers has increased compared to before, starting from about 4-5 days ago. The products that customers choose the most are still sheep wool blankets with prices ranging from 300,000 to nearly 3 million VND, electric mattresses priced at 800,000 VND or more, and floor mats ranging from around 300,000 VND."
According to the forecast of the provincial Hydrometeorological Station, the weather will continue to be cold in the coming days, with sunny days but temperatures will still drop sharply, especially at night and early morning. Therefore, people need to take proactive measures to ensure they stay warm and safe for their health.
