Throughout her artistic journey of more than half a century, People's Artist Thu Hien is not only a golden voice of traditional revolutionary music but also a symbol of patriotism, dedication and national pride. At the age of over 70, when looking back on 50 years of singing, People's Artist Thu Hien not only tells about her artistic life on HTV television with the program "Songs of Living Together Through the Years" (broadcast on April 29), but also performs songs associated with the history of the country - where People's Artist Thu Hien's singing has accompanied the fire, tears, and even smiles of victory.

Journey through the fiery years

Born in Thai Nguyen - a land closely associated with the ATK resistance zone, People's Artist Thu Hien was instilled with a spirit of patriotism from an early age. She came to art not through the bright lights of the stage, but through her singing voice echoing in the middle of the battlefield, among soldiers lying on hammocks in the forest or taking shelter in artillery bunkers.

"I started singing during the war, when each song could be a valuable spiritual medicine. At that time, I didn't think I was a singer, I just thought: I need to sing to give strength to my brothers, my comrades, and the whole country" - People's Artist Thu Hien emotionally shared.

From the songs "The girl sharpening spikes", "Singing in the Pac Bo forest", to "My mother", "The color of red flowers", People's Artist Thu Hien brought her singing to all parts of the country - from the mountains of the Northwest to the Central region, where there were many fires and bullets. Each song is not just a piece of music, but a story, a slice of the resistance war, an indelible part of memory.

50 years – the journey of preserving the national soul through music

If revolutionary music is called the "sacred soul" of the nation, then People's Artist Thu Hien is a silent but persistent keeper of the fire. She constantly innovates, bringing folk songs into revolutionary music, softening them while still maintaining their heroic qualities. With skillful handling, her voice is both strong, soulful, and imbued with Vietnamese identity.

Despite her old age, People's Artist Thu Hien still regularly participates in major art programs in Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country. Her singing has the weight of a story from the country itself, from unforgettable years.

"For more than half a century, I have never left the stage. For me, singing is living. And as long as I can sing, I will continue to sing for the Fatherland, for the people, for those who cherish the music that has created the soul of Vietnam."

People's Artist Ta Minh Tam once said that People's Artist Thu Hien is the voice of an era, of soldiers, of deep patriotism - has been, is and will always be a sacred milestone in the flow of national music. "50 years of singing for the Fatherland for her is not only a career milestone, but also a testament to a heart that never stops beating for Vietnam, she is also a solid creative support for the young generation to follow".

She confided: "I received this award with deep gratitude. "Mai Vang Tri An" is not an award for those at the peak, but a deep respect for artists who have contributed their whole lives to the country's art, inspiring many generations.
