Female Union officials pioneer in digital transformation

DTO - As a young female Union official, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Giau (born in 1999) - Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Ward 1, Sa Dec City is always dynamic, exemplary in leading the movements and activities of the Union in the locality. At the same time, she is a pioneer in implementing digital transformation (CDS) in the area, gradually bringing digital technology into the work of the Union and life.

Sharing about her journey to the Youth Union, Ms. Giau said that since high school, she loved the Youth Union. In 2021, after graduating from university with a major in Political Education, Ms. Giau returned to work for the Youth Union in Hamlet 5, Ward 1. In 2022, she was trusted by the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ward 1 and elected to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ward 1 until now.

As Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, a member of the Ward 1 Community Digital Technology Team, Ms. Giau enthusiastically propagates to people about the policies of the province and city in digital transformation work, raising people's awareness of digital technology. At the same time, she supports and guides people to install and use the E-Dong Thap application; online public services; coordinates with a number of banks in the ward to propagate and deploy the installation of e-wallets for business households to promote cashless payments in business and trading activities. In 2024, she and members of the ward's Community Digital Technology Team supported 622 people to submit online applications at levels 3 and 4; 368 people to install e-wallets for cashless payments; deploy models: "Digital transformation route", "Cashless canteen or food and beverage store".

In particular, at the end of 2024, Ms. Giau and civil servants of the Statistics Office (Ward 1 People's Committee) researched and proposed an initiative to implement the model "Volunteer team to propagate and guide the use of online public services and online payments in Ward 1, Sa Dec City". Implementing the model, Ms. Giau and 6 groups of young volunteers were on duty at Ward 1 People's Committee and the People's Committees of 5 hamlets to guide people to use online public services and make online payments. The activities took place every Saturday and through the activities of the Youth Union. Up to now, the model has initially brought positive results, helping people easily access and use online public services, saving time when carrying out administrative procedures. In addition, she also volunteered to support and guide people in submitting documents and handling administrative procedures at the Reception and Results Department of Ward 1 People's Committee. Ms. Giau's contributions brought many practical benefits, gradually spreading digital technology in the locality.

Not only a pioneer in the field of digital transformation, Ms. Giau is also very creative in the Union's activities through projects and volunteer work for the community such as: environmental sanitation, tree planting; coordinating the implementation of 2 models: "Restoring portraits of heroic martyrs" and "Green health"...

With her contributions to the Youth Union in the past time, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Giau was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for her outstanding achievements in implementing the activities of the Community Digital Technology Team in the province in 2024; The Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union awarded the Tran Thi Thu Award (Kim Hong Award) for her many positive contributions to the Youth Union work and the youth movement in the province.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Giau said: “Participating in the Youth Union helps me grow more mature every day. That is the motivation for me to stick with the work in the past time. I will continue to study, improve my professional capacity; promote the pioneering role of the Youth Union members in participating in volunteer movements and digital transformation activities in the area, contributing to the development of the locality.”
