Female union president takes care of workers' lives

On the occasion of honoring 10 outstanding female union members in 2025, we had the opportunity to meet Ms. Le Thi Huong - Chairwoman of the Grassroots Union of Asia Italian Door Technology Co., Ltd. (Ho Chi Minh City), who has been involved in grassroots union activities for 20 years and has many initiatives, as well as recommendations for policies to care for union members and workers.

Proposing more benefits for union members.

As the Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union, Ms. Le Thi Huong advised the company's management on implementing many welfare policies for employees, such as providing support to union members facing difficulties; and ensuring employees receive bonuses and lucky money during holidays to encourage and motivate them.

Notably, in recent years, the company has had many activities linked to national events, in which Ms. Le Thi Huong has always been the initiator and promoter, encouraging union members and workers to participate.

During the recent April 30th holiday, the grassroots trade union where Ms. Huong works organized a flag-raising ceremony to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country. More than 1,000 workers, dressed in red shirts with yellow stars, solemnly saluted the flag, sang the national anthem, and recalled the nation's struggle for independence and freedom.

In May 2025, the Trade Union solemnly organized a ceremony to commemorate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth. Hundreds of workers, dressed in black trousers and white shirts with red scarves, arrived at the company earlier than usual, embodying the spirit of sons and grandsons, always following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh. In carrying out these two programs, the Trade Union proposed that the company reward workers with 300,000-500,000 VND.

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day on September 2nd, the grassroots trade union organized a flag-raising ceremony, a documentary film screening, and a formation depicting the country. This activity contributed to educating workers about national traditions and fostering patriotism. The grassroots trade union also proposed that the company award each member 700,000 VND to encourage and motivate employees.

Having been with Ý - Á Châu Door Engineering Co., Ltd. for over two decades, she is affectionately known as: The woman who balances two responsibilities: work and family. In her, responsibility in her work, devotion to her family, and a deep sense of community are all present.

Ms. Huong also contributed an innovative idea to improve her preform-making machine, which doubled production and benefited the company by over 1 billion VND. This is a typical initiative in the "1 Million Initiatives" program organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor .

Taking care of union meals

Ms. Le Thi Huong is also a trade union official who ignites the movement and spreads love among the workers in her workplace. One of the notable achievements of Ms. Le Thi Huong, the chairperson of the grassroots trade union, is that since 2024, the grassroots trade union of Asia-Europe Door Engineering Co., Ltd. (Tan Hiep Ward) has organized the "Trade Union Meal" program as a model initiative, following the guidelines of the City Federation of Labor. This activity has increasingly spread, helping to build more stable labor relations in the enterprise.

For over a year now, the company's trade union has organized a "Trade Union Meal" every month, sometimes twice a month. The trade union and the company have dedicated their efforts to providing quality meals that foster camaraderie and solidarity within the company. Before each meal, Ms. Le Thi Huong, the chairperson of the company's trade union, discusses and plans the menu with various departments.

Specifically, in October 2025, Ms. Le Thi Huong presided over the "Trade Union's Mid-Autumn Festival Meal" for 1,000 workers. All management staff, office personnel, and the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union worked together to prepare a special meal for the workers. The grassroots trade union ordered vermicelli, pork sausage, spring rolls, milk tea, and mooncakes. Then, they arranged the dishes according to each group and shift.

"Despite the difficulties, I still hope that the workers can have delicious meals to improve their health. Through this union meal, we will strengthen sharing and mutual understanding. Let's all do our jobs well to unite and overcome this difficult period," said Ms. Le Thi Huong.

Furthermore, in social work and charity, for Ms. Huong, "giving is forever." From quietly caring for a child with leukemia, setting up a "zero-cost stall" for struggling workers, to contributing to building village roads and donating bicycles to poor students, wherever there is sharing, there is Ms. Huong's mark. Recently, Ms. Huong has also participated in many social activities such as mobilizing businesses to support 1 billion VND for people affected by floods and storms in 2024, and supporting many underprivileged students in Tan Uyen...

The image of Ms. Le Thi Huong shows that trade union officials not only take care of benefits and policies, but also sow seeds of love, proving themselves worthy as a pillar of support for workers.

In 2025, for the first time, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will honor 10 outstanding female union members – representing millions of passionate hearts. These are women who dare to think and act, pioneers in continuous innovation and creativity, and exemplary individuals in various emulation movements, with the core being the "Excellent in work, capable in home" movement.
