At that time, Ms. DTD, born in 2001, from Trung My commune, Binh Xuyen district (Vinh Phuc), was riding a motorbike 88G1-528.85, with Ms. LTHM, born in 2001, from Phuc Thang commune, Nghia Hung district (Nam Dinh) behind her, on National Highway 5 in the direction of Hai Phong - Hanoi in the motorbike and non-motorized vehicle lane. When reaching km 42+600, Ms. D's motorbike was hit by a tanker truck 30L-8718 driven by Mr. D.VT, born in 1983, from Khanh Duong commune, Yen Mo district (Ninh Binh) traveling in the same direction. Ms. M. died at the scene.

The victim was a student studying at a medical school in Hai Duong city.

According to the dash cam of a tractor trailer, at the time of the accident, there was an electric motorbike going in the opposite direction in the lane for motorbikes and non-motorized vehicles, so Ms. D's motorbike had to avoid this vehicle. At that moment, the tanker truck was driving in the wrong lane and pressed close to the right side, leading to the tragic accident.

The cause of the accident is currently being investigated by Cam Giang District Police.
