With enthusiasm and pioneering spirit, Ms. Tran Thi Muoi (born in 1990) constantly contributes, brings new opportunities, helps many local youths firmly on the path of starting a business and rising out of poverty sustainably.
From love of green shirts to community initiatives
Ms. Muoi has participated in the Youth Union since 2014 out of her love for the green volunteer shirt. After passing the civil service exam to work as the Office - Statistics of the commune in 2017, she still regularly supports the activities of the Youth Union. In July 2021, Ms. Muoi officially took on the duties of Secretary of the Commune Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Cai Nuoc commune.
From July 2025, Cai Nuoc commune was formed on the basis of merging Cai Nuoc town, Dong Thoi and Tran Thoi communes, part of Tan Hung Dong commune and part of Dong Hung commune. Currently, Cai Nuoc commune Youth Union consists of 36 Youth Union branches, 2 grassroots Youth Unions with more than 2,400 members.
Concerned about the reality of many poor and near-poor households, unemployed youth and lack of production capital in the locality, in early 2022, Ms. Muoi initiated the model "Youth participating in supporting sustainable poverty reduction".
This model, which is highly supported and implemented by Cai Nuoc Commune Youth Union, aims to promote the pioneering role of youth in helping and supporting people, especially poor households headed by young people, to escape poverty in a sustainable way.
The name of the model not only clearly shows the role of the youth as the main subject but also emphasizes the long-term, sustainable nature of poverty reduction work - not just temporary support but helping people to truly rise up on their own.
Starting with 15 core members including Youth Union officials, secretaries of hamlet Youth Union branches and youth volunteers, the model has now expanded to 41 members, with the participation of armed forces members and representatives of a number of local businesses.
According to Ms. Muoi, the operating fund of the model is mobilized from a variety of sources including support from the Provincial Youth Union, union members contributing to the youth start-up support fund, along with connecting with the Social Policy Bank to help union members access preferential loans.
The Youth Union and Association will review the application and assess the actual situation before disbursing the loan, with an average support level of 5-30 million VND/model, depending on the scale. The selection criteria prioritize young people with the will to start a business, clear business ideas, models suitable to local conditions, and feasibility, especially for poor and near-poor households, disadvantaged youth, or models that create jobs for many young workers.

"Sweet fruit" from the model
From the above model, many young people in Cai Nuoc have had the opportunity to realize their dreams. Typically, Mr. Le Van Huong (Dong My hamlet) with the model of raising and supplying commercial blood cockles. With initial capital support of 30 million VND from the Commune Youth Union, Mr. Huong's 2,000 m² pond model currently achieves an average revenue of 150 - 180 million VND/year and creates seasonal jobs for 3 - 5 local young people.
Or Mr. Ly Huy Chuong (My Tan hamlet) with the model of raising blood cockles combined with raising mussels, received support of 15 million VND, achieving revenue of 30 - 50 million VND/year on a scale of 1,000 m².
These successful models not only bring about clear economic efficiency but are also promoted and replicated at youth union meetings, contributing to inspiring and encouraging young people to boldly start businesses.
As a youth leader, Ms. Muoi directly presided over the survey of youth needs; mobilized resources, connected with businesses and banks. She also monitored and supported the model from the beginning until it stabilized; promptly rewarded and recognized typical examples for replication.
Ms. Muoi shared that the secret to inspiring and maintaining the fire of enthusiasm in young people lies in sincere companionship. She not only mobilizes capital but also advises and accompanies young people to overcome difficulties, considering each member as a family member to share and encourage their spirit.
In particular, she also proactively creates outlets for youth products and establishes her own economic development model to motivate and set an example for young people.

With the model of "Youth participating in sustainable poverty reduction", the commune's Youth Union has strongly mobilized donors to build 6 new houses, repair 11 houses for poor and near-poor households; help eliminate poverty for 16 households... Up to now, the whole commune has 87 economic development models of union members, including some models that have developed very well and are being replicated such as raising grouper, raising blood cockles, and raising civets.
Spreading sustainable values
The model of "Youth participating in supporting sustainable poverty reduction" under the leadership of female Secretary of the Commune Youth Union Tran Thi Muoi has brought positive and meaningful impacts to the locality.
The model not only helps many young people escape poverty, become prosperous, and partly improve the situation of young people leaving their hometowns to work far away, but also creates a vibrant youth movement to compete in economic development. This contributes to maintaining income criteria and sustainable poverty reduction in the process of building new, advanced rural areas in Cai Nuoc commune.
Ms. Muoi and her model are living proof that, with enthusiasm, creativity and companionship, Youth Union officials can create positive changes, light up faith and guide young people on the path of starting a business and getting rich legitimately in their homeland.
With enthusiasm and initiative in the work of the Youth Union and Association, Ms. Tran Thi Muoi has successfully completed her tasks for many consecutive years; and has been evaluated by the superior union as having completed her tasks excellently for many consecutive years. Ms. Muoi is one of the examples nominated by the Vietnam Youth Union of Ca Mau province for the "Beautiful Youth" Award in 2025 organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.
