Stephanee Beggs, 28, opened her phone and created a TikTok account, uploading one of her medical videos . Soon, the nurse was overwhelmed when the video reached more than 200,000 views.
In the videos, Beggs often talks to… a wall to remember what he has learned. "Speaking the information out loud and watching the video helps me remember it easier and longer," Beggs said.

Beggs continued posting videos and now has 846,000 followers on TikTok. From there, she pushed out more content on the digital platform.
“I started messaging them asking if they could buy the nursing notebooks in my videos. I created an Etsy shop with the idea that I could make enough money to buy lunch every day,” the nurse said.
However, in just 2 years, Beggs sold 64,000 products, earning nearly 2 million USD (about 47.3 billion VND).
Most of the people who watch videos and buy products from Beggs are people who work in the healthcare field, including people in nursing school, nurses, or even physician assistants and physicians.

The content she shares is often more educational than personal, so Beggs is able to balance and establish boundaries between her two different jobs, nursing and influencer.
"I realized that my product sold well because it was handwritten, personal, and extremely concise. So in addition to the notebook, I created additional knowledge cards with similar designs. For example, a set of cards about child care for people who are only interested in that area," Beggs confided.
With this item, the nurse earns from 2 to 40 USD (about 47 - 940,000 VND) for each set of coupons. In addition, there are some sets of coupons in a package that cost even more.
Arrange a tight schedule
Before that, Beggs graduated from university with a major in business marketing. However, after working as an executive assistant at Warner Brothers, Beggs still felt unsatisfied after each shift.

Loving the knowledge of anatomy while still in school, the girl decided to study a 1-year accelerated nursing program at the age of 25.
At that time, the Covid-19 outbreak caused almost all activities to close. Classes and clinics also moved online, making it difficult for Beggs because he had no opportunity to practice.
At this point, the girl came up with the idea of self-studying and recording. Soon after, Beggs found her videos interesting, decided to post them on social networks and became famous as she is now.
“People started messaging me asking if they could buy the nursing information booklet in my videos,” Beggs recalls.
When things returned to normal after the pandemic, the nurse also went to work at the hospital. After each 12-hour shift, Beggs went home, became a KOL and ran the product business.
Even on her days off, the girl still works on social networks, mainly creating and editing content, responding to comments, messages and emails.
Once she became a social media sensation, Beggs tried to stick to a schedule. She planned to post at least three videos a week on TikTok and Instagram. Beggs limited her posts to Fridays and Saturdays because viewers typically don’t use their phones or study on the weekends.

From filming to video editing, Beggs does it all by herself, so it takes about 4 hours to complete a video. Therefore, on average, she spends 4 hours a week doing this side job.
"I have created a relatively successful business as a KOL but now, I really enjoy doing both jobs. My advice to those who want to become a KOL is to create useful content and be true to yourself," the nurse said.
