Mr. Vo Ta Tu's house is almost finished.

Mr. Vo Ta Tu said: “My house has a construction area of 100m2 , starting construction on February 12. From the time of dismantling the old house and laying the foundation, in addition to the professional construction team hired by the family, there were always support forces from the commune. Therefore, although the construction process encountered many difficulties due to rising prices and many times lacking workers, the progress was not delayed, after only 3 months, the project was basically completed. In the past few days, the construction team has carried out the finishing steps such as: plastering walls, preparing to install doors, laying tiles... I expect that the construction will be completed by May 19.”

To ensure progress, Thach Ha ward officials are regularly present to supervise and urge construction work.

During the implementation of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Thach Ha Ward had 12 newly built and repaired houses, one of the localities with the largest number of houses under construction in the city. To ensure the general progress framework, the ward Party Committee and government mobilized the entire political system, assigned cadres, assigned residential groups to closely follow each house to both direct, support and resolve on-site difficulties. At the same time, proactively mobilized resources, called for support from businesses, organizations, and individuals to provide maximum financial support to reduce financial pressure on families.

In particular, during the "sprint" phase of construction, local leaders and members of the Steering Committee for the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses of the Ward directed the progress on a daily basis; regulated and mobilized forces to support in order to shorten the construction time as much as possible. By May 12, Thach Ha Ward had completed 10/12 houses, 2 houses had been completed at over 80%.

Mr. Nguyen Van Bau in Residential Group 10, Dai Nai Ward is excited about his new solid house, which is almost completed thanks to the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses supported by the Program.

Not only Thach Ha, in Dai Nai ward and other wards and communes, the construction atmosphere is also very urgent. The closer the handover date is, the more actively local officials, functional forces, people and social organizations join hands to speed up the completion process.

Mr. Le Van Tuan - Head of Residential Group 10 (Dai Nai Ward) said: "The residential group has 1 poor household that is supported to build a new house, that is Mr. Nguyen Van Bau's household, with a construction area of 100m2 . Because the grandparents are old and weak, in addition to the budget, since the start of construction, neighbors, unions and social organizations of the ward have supported working days, including construction costs. Currently, the construction volume has reached about 95%, the ward also has a plan to direct the residential group to coordinate with branches and unions to support the final stages of construction, cleaning up to hand over the house on the afternoon of May 19".

In recent days, political organizations and unions have been mobilized to the maximum. To ensure the plan to hand over 100% of houses by May 19 according to the province's deadline, in addition to local forces, for projects that are behind schedule or facing difficulties, the city's associations at all levels have "resourced" human resources to focus on supporting. For completed houses, the forces also joined hands to clean up and help families move into their new homes as planned.

Mr. Tran Hau Binh - Chairman of the Veterans Association of Ha Tinh city said: "The association has called on members to contribute 1,000 VND each to join hands with the city to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. We have donated over 100 million VND and given them to the families. In addition, the association has also reviewed and established veteran workers' groups to support construction; mobilized thousands of working days to help with dismantling, roofing, and cleaning up new houses...".

According to the report of the Steering Committee of the City's Temporary and Dilapidated House Elimination Program, up to this point, 167/184 houses have been completed (reaching 90.76%); 17 houses (6 poor households, 9 near-poor households and 2 households with meritorious services) are in the "final" completion stage.

The total disbursed budget is 7,941/9,42 billion VND (84.3%); of which support for new construction is 5,571 billion VND (79%), support for repair is 2,37 billion VND (100%).

Total mobilized social resources reached 15,138 billion VND, in addition to 224 tons of cement, 20,500 bricks and more than 6,100 supporting working days.

In addition to the Government's program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Ha Tinh City has also supported the construction of 54 more houses for households in difficult circumstances with a total cost of 1,789 billion VND.

The leaders of Ha Tinh City and the Program Steering Committee are urgently directing local Party committees and authorities to continue to follow the daily progress of the projects; coordinate with the City Fatherland Front Committee and organizations to mobilize union members, association members and people to mobilize maximum resources to support families, ensuring that by May 19 at the latest, 100% of the houses will be handed over.

Along with that, urgently complete the documents, acceptance procedures, and settlement of funding for housing construction and renovation support according to the requirements of the Provincial Steering Committee, ensuring that people soon settle down in their new homes.

The Steering Committee of the City's Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses and the City's Association of War Veterans awarded 20 million VND in support from socialized sources to help households in difficulty build and repair their houses.

The spacious, sturdy houses with the smell of new paint were handed over to the poor, near-poor households and families with revolutionary contributions. This is not only the joy of a project, but also the responsibility and sharing of the entire political system and social community in Ha Tinh City, originating from the "command from the heart", a project that is in line with the Party's will and the people's will, to join the province and the whole country in implementing the great policy of "leaving no one behind".
