After the accident, 4 injured patients were taken to Dinh Quan Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment, then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital.

At the time of admission, patient M. was recorded with a 2-level femur fracture, a complete rupture of the upper third of the lower leg, and a wound that completely peeled off the skin of the entire right forearm and left forearm.

The patient received intravenous fluids, blood transfusion and antibiotics early, and multidisciplinary consultation before being assigned to emergency surgery, within just 1 hour from the time of admission.

The treatment team of the Orthopedic Trauma Department amputated the lower third of the femur, arranged the bone and screwed the upper part to preserve the femoral stump. Postoperatively, the stump was completely sutured, and the forearm was debrided. The patient is now awake, has good contact, can eat and drink, and still has pain in the surgical wound.

The patient underwent emergency surgery to control the blocked tibial artery, debride the crushed vessel, remove the blood clot, reconnect the severed blood vessel, and then continue to have the wound treated by the orthopedic trauma team.

Currently, patient E.'s condition is stable, his toes can move, but the risk of infection due to open fractures remains. Close coordination with related specialties is needed for timely treatment.
