Mr. Le Truong Tung shares about the KS57 training model.
Vietnam aims to be in the top 3 in Southeast Asia in AI, while many experts previously said that the bottleneck for this problem is mainly human resources. Can you tell us how universities will work together to solve this problem?
- With more than 150,000 students from primary to university, FPT determined that education cannot operate as it did 3-5 years ago. The problem is not simply that AI is present and affects all issues of social life, causing the nature of work to change a lot and posing many new requirements for workers.
We cannot doeducation the way we did 3-5 years ago. Many things require educational institutions to change, otherwise, students after graduating will lack the necessary skills to contribute to the country.
FPT University has established a project team and implemented the Engineer 57 program to train strategic reserve forces to participate in the implementation of Resolution 57/NQ-TW. Students will immediately learn about state management, public administration, digital economy , digital finance - knowledge that has never been available in traditional information technology programs. The goal is to create a force ready to participate in digital transformation projects of state agencies and enterprises when needed.
Engineer 57 - people who are good at technology, understand state operations and policy thinking is a new direction of FPT University. In your opinion, what is the biggest difference between the training model of Engineer 57 and traditional technology engineers?
- The biggest difference is in the skills that engineers 57 will be trained in. In addition to knowledge about information technology and AI, there will be knowledge that is quite unfamiliar to technology students included in the training program.
You will learn about state management and public administration to distinguish between new and old state management; learn digital management theory related to businesses, learn digital finance and digital economy, and grasp the experience of customers and citizens when interacting with digital services.
More in-depth content: information security and safety, innovation management, ethics related to the digital environment, and laws related to the digital environment will also be included in the program.
Students will register voluntarily, free of charge, receive certificates, and be included in the strategic reserve list so that when needed, they can participate in digital transformation projects for state management agencies and businesses.
FPT University will use its partner platform Coursera to take tests and assignments, which will be certified on Coursera but signed by FPT University. Students will then take a direct exam at the school to complete the course.

As a pioneer, what goals do you set for this program - in terms of training scale as well as student output capacity?
- From next Monday, May 12, the Engineer 57 program will be deployed for all IT students from semester 3 and above who achieved good or excellent grades in the previous semester (Spring semester 2025). In the Summer semester 2025, students will study the first 4 modules of the program on the Coursera platform.
By 2025, our goal is to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to become a strategic reserve workforce, ready to participate when national digital transformation projects, state agencies, and businesses need it.
In addition, FPT University also cooperated with FPT Research Institute to build a digital human resources data system - a platform connecting students with real-life projects in the fields of digital economy, public administration, AI and information security.
In the Strategic Human Resources Alliance, what role will FPT University play in spreading the quality training model to other schools?
- In the Strategic Human Resources Alliance, FPT University will focus on building a closed digital transformation ecosystem from high school to postgraduate level. With the FPT Education ecosystem from high school to postgraduate level, the inclusion of content related to AI, robotics, and basic information technology is part of FPT University's program.
We are working with other training institutions to coordinate the implementation of the Engineer 57 program and develop additional postgraduate programs, especially in AI, information security and digital governance.
