Final round of 'Students with business ideas - Biz Contest 2025' at Foreign Trade University

Representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam and the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam received flowers from the Organizing Committee.

The contest attracted the participation of many students, lecturers and representatives of Japanese enterprises in Vietnam, organized by Foreign Trade University in collaboration with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO); under the auspices of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam to encourage the spirit of innovation and creativity and enhance the Japanese language proficiency of students of Vietnamese universities.

The friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan are being strengthened and enhanced in many fields, opening up many development opportunities for students who have a strong interest in Japan, especially those who dare to challenge themselves and spread their wings to the world . The current era also requires students to learn Japanese not only to “speak Japanese” but also “what can be done when using that language”.

With the theme “Solving social problems in Vietnam with the cooperation of Japanese enterprises”, the competition attracted the participation of many Japanese language students from universities across the country from Hanoi , Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City. After the preliminary round in March, 8 excellent teams entered the intensive training stage.

Students learned from business project building methods to presentation skills taught by prestigious experts and received practical advice from Japanese businesses. The meaningful thing that the competition brought was the nurturing of creative ideas, problem-solving ability, Japanese proficiency, teamwork skills and presentation skills of students.

Commenting on the competition, Mr. Ozasa Haruhiko, Chief Representative of JETRO Hanoi Office, affirmed that Japanese companies are looking for human resources who not only have Japanese proficiency but also have problem-solving skills and a strong spirit of challenge like today's contestants. He also said that currently, there are more than 2,000 Japanese companies operating in Vietnam with plans to expand their business here.

Mr. Ozasa highly appreciated the students' interesting business ideas covering many different fields such as food, connection services, recycling, educational toys, beauty... demonstrating their understanding of Vietnam's socio -economic issues presented with a youthful and enthusiastic spirit.

The audience cheered enthusiastically for the teams.

In the final result, the team from Foreign Trade University with the project "SEA - sex education application on smartphones, learning through game experience" won the first prize worth 20 million VND amid the applause of the audience watching the competition.

Foreign Trade University is a university with a history of more than half a century in teaching Japanese in Vietnam. In 2021, the school was honored to receive the prestigious Japan Foundation Award for its great contributions to the development of Japanese language training in Vietnam.
