Can Tho promotes tourism in Hue

Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee; leaders of the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Hue City Department of Tourism; Can Tho and Hue City Tourism Association; tourism businesses of 7 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and North Central Coast: Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Tri attended.

The conference is one of the activities in response to Hue National Tourism Year 2025.

The event introduces and promotes the image of the land, people, and typical tourism products of Can Tho and the Mekong Delta region, connecting and attracting tourists in Hue and the North Central region; connecting tourism businesses between localities, building product routes, expanding the market, creating conditions for exploiting and promoting the effectiveness of flights from Can Tho to the provinces and cities of the Central region and vice versa.

Can Tho, Soc Trang, Hau Giang, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Tri all have tourism potential with diverse and distinct product systems, creating attraction for tourists. Therefore, the cooperation between localities will create many opportunities for businesses to exchange, link, cooperate to promote tourism development between the two regions of the Mekong Delta and the North Central Coast.

At the conference, delegates shared and proposed: increasing the frequency of flights from Can Tho to the Central region, including studying the opening of a direct flight connecting Can Tho to Phu Bai (Hue); cooperating to build joint tourism promotion and advertising programs; linking to build inter-route and product chains connecting Can Tho and Hue, the Mekong Delta and the Central region; strengthening cooperation and exchanging experiences in preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage to develop tourism, aiming at sustainable tourism models; building a tourism business cooperation alliance between the two regions...

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, acknowledged the initiative of the Can Tho tourism sector in organizing a conference to promote and advertise tourism in Hue. This is a meaningful event, part of a series of activities responding to the National Tourism Year 2025. Can Tho and Hue are tourism centers of the country, with distinct traditional identities and many tourism products imbued with indigenous culture. Cooperation and tourism development between Can Tho, Hue, the Mekong Delta and the North Central Coast promises to open up many opportunities to build new products and connect markets.

In order for the cooperation and linkage to develop tourism between localities to be substantive and in-depth, Mr. Ha Van Sieu suggested that the tourism sectors of the linked localities need to coordinate, research and develop mechanisms and policies to promote the specific strengths of each locality, thereby building products according to specialized itineraries, combining heritage - resort - ecological - culinary tourism; promote tourism stimulation, enhance promotion, apply digital transformation in management and linkage to develop tourism.

In the coming time, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will continue to advise the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to innovate and improve the mechanism for cooperation in tourism development, especially promoting public-private partnerships; accompanying localities to remove difficulties, implement support activities, create an open environment and conditions for businesses to accelerate and develop tourism effectively and sustainably.

On this occasion, the Tourism Association of the two cities: Can Tho and Hue signed a tourism cooperation agreement.
