This is the first congress held after the establishment of the new Ho Chi Minh City (merging Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces), marking a new turning point in the Federation's apparatus as well as the development of table tennis in a more widespread and synchronous manner.
At the event, 36 members of the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Table Tennis Federation for the 2025-2030 term were introduced. Mr. Mai Ba Hung, member of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, was elected as the President of the Ho Chi Minh City Table Tennis Federation.

The City Table Tennis Federation has identified the 2025-2030 term as an important foundation stage for the long-term development of the sport. The focus is on building a system of grassroots tournaments, developing and further improving youth training, helping to create a continuous playground and improve the quality of athletes of all ages.
Speaking at the congress, Deputy Director of the City Department of Culture and Sports Cao Van Chong hoped that the new-look City Table Tennis Federation would take advantage of resources in all three regions to promote strengths and create breakthroughs. In addition, developing the table tennis movement in schools, residential areas, businesses and armed forces is considered a key solution to expand the number of players, creating sustainable resources for this sport. Mr. Cao Van Chong also suggested that the Federation promote the training of referees and coaches, apply technology to athlete management, competition rankings and tournament operations, towards a modern and transparent operating model.
At the same time, the Federation also aims to closely connect with the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation and other local Federations, proactively seeking opportunities to organize international tournaments in the city in the future.
Speaking after his re-election, new President Mai Ba Hung said that the City Table Tennis Federation with its new look will gradually improve the quality of training, competition and integration, thereby making table tennis not only a grassroots sport, but also a field with a professional, systematic orientation, aiming for sustainability and widespread dissemination in the community.
At the congress, many units and businesses officially signed to accompany and support the City Table Tennis Federation.
