According to Forbes ' real-time data update on November 25, Pham Nhat Vuong's assets have now reached 22.5 billion USD, an increase of 1.3 billion USD, equivalent to 6.33% in just one day. This increase helps the Vietnamese businessman to be ranked in the list of 100 richest people on the planet for the first time.
The Chairman of Vingroup is also the first USD billionaire in Vietnam with assets of over 20 billion USD, and is also the first Vietnamese person to be in the group of 100 richest people in the world.
This increase in assets comes from the upward momentum of VIC shares of Vingroup Corporation. Since the beginning of the year, VIC has increased about 6 times, from 40,000 VND to the current record level of 246,000 VND/share.
Vingroup's current capitalization value also reaches approximately VND950,000 billion, leading the Vietnamese stock market and nearly double the capitalization of the second-ranked stock, Vietcombank (VCB).
VIC’s recent growth has also strongly affected the assets of key members of the board of directors. Accordingly, Ms. Pham Thu Huong - Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and wife of Mr. Vuong - is holding 170.6 million VIC shares, equivalent to 4.46% of capital. Converted at current prices, her assets are about 1.7 billion USD.
According to the third quarter financial report, Vingroup's total consolidated assets are over VND1,080 trillion, up about 30% compared to the beginning of the year. Mr. Vuong directly owns 389.9 million VIC shares, equivalent to 10.1% of capital, not including ownership through companies and family members. It is estimated that the total controlling ratio can be up to about 65%.
In addition to Vingroup, he also holds nearly half of the capital at VinFast - an electric vehicle manufacturing and trading enterprise that is constantly expanding its market share in Vietnam and seeking to increase its presence in the US, European markets and some Asian countries such as India, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Notably, Vingroup's ecosystem this year expanded into a series of new fields, from steel, elderly care, entertainment to aerospace.
Most recently, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's corporation announced the Cultural pillar, marking a new step in the journey of expanding and perfecting the ecosystem of the largest private corporation in Vietnam.
The birth of this pillar increases the total number of Vingroup's fields of operation to 6, in addition to Technology - Industry, Trade - Services, Infrastructure, Green Energy, and Social Charity.
