The Manchester team are stepping up efforts to recruit the German star for a record fee of 126 million pounds.

Florian Wirtz flew from Maastricht (Netherlands) to Blackpool (England), in the context that Man City did everything to beat Bayern Munich in the race to sign this 22-year-old talent.

Wirtz has been travelling with his father and agent to discuss a potential move to the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola has identified Wirtz as his number one target as he looks to rebuild his squad, replacing legend De Bruyne who will leave the club at the end of the season.

The £126m offer from Man City would break the English football transfer record, currently held by the £115m deal for Caicedo to join Chelsea in 2023.

According to Bild, Wirtz and his parents boarded a private jet at 10am on Tuesday (May 13). They were then taken to Manchester to meet Pep before flying back to Germany at around 5pm.

Reporters took pictures of Wirtz's parents at the airport and tried to shake their hands and ask questions. However, they chose to remain silent.

Florian Wirtz is understood to have had a face-to-face conversation with Pep Guardiola. However, he has yet to make a final decision on his future, as he still has two years left on his contract at Leverkusen.
