On the evening of March 1, Ho Chi Minh City Police informed that this unit had just destroyed a warehouse of weapons and support tools that were sold on social networks, seizing 230 guns, 4,750 bullets and many related exhibits.
This arsenal was led by Doan Quoc Thai (born in 1992, residing in Ward 15, District 8). Also involved in the arms trade with Thai was Tran Ba Loc (born in 1997, residing in Thoi An Ward, District 12).
Authorities said that recently, by gathering information from cyberspace, Ho Chi Minh City Police discovered a number of accounts on social networks such as Facebook, Zalo, and Telegram selling weapons and support tools such as guns and ammunition.

Through verification, the detectives clarified that the above weapons were smuggled by the group from Thailand and Cambodia, then hidden in many places, and sold on social networks for tens of millions of VND per gun, thereby illegally profiting a large amount of money.
Determined not to let the above dangerous weapons fall into the hands of bad elements in society, after consolidating sufficient documents and evidence, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with the police of the above districts to simultaneously search related locations and arrest those involved.
Initially, authorities seized 230 guns of various types, 4,750 bullets, 23 gas cylinders, 2 bullet presses, 54 ammunition boxes and many related evidences.

The case is currently being investigated by the Criminal Police Department in coordination with other units to thoroughly and strictly handle it according to the law.
