According to the head of the provincial government, "the leaders of each agency and unit should strive to fulfill their responsibilities properly, first of all for their own expectations, not for the expectations of the provincial leaders."
It can be affirmed that the message of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to the leadership team of the provincial press agencies in particular and the leaders of departments, branches and sectors in general, is not only a reminder, but also a practical order. Because when a locality becomes the "largest province in the country" in terms of area, top in population, advantages and challenges will be equally great, the first necessary thing is not to be "ecstatic" in the new position, but to have a new leadership mindset, a strong and decisive spirit to realize one's own expectations into the trust of the provincial leaders and the people's expectations in each agency, unit and locality.
Remember not long ago, directing at the working session with the leaders of the three provinces of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan , Dak Nong to prepare for the merger of the new Lam Dong province, General Secretary To Lam also noted: Merging the three provinces is not only a milestone in administrative organization, but also opens a turning point in leadership thinking, management of larger, more complex development and more opportunities. The core question that the General Secretary raised: How to develop, what to prioritize, where to make breakthroughs, where to get resources - is the suggestion for the leaders of departments, branches, and localities of Lam Dong province to step out of the rut of thinking about tenure, achievements, and formalities, to together create an administrative entity that is competitive and has sustainable development.
Returning to the sharing of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi, he emphasized the personal qualities of a leader: "First of all, because of one's own expectations". Because if one only works to "be worthy of the expectations of the provincial leaders", then that is a passive, coping mindset. On the contrary, when the heads of agencies and units have professional pride, positive "self-esteem" and great enough personal aspirations, then they can spread the spirit of innovation to the entire apparatus.
“The largest province in the country” cannot operate with the mindset of an “upgraded province”, and even less can it wait for instructions from above before taking action. In a “new, more complex and opportunity-rich entity”, as the General Secretary pointed out, proactiveness in strategy, commitment in action and aspiration for development must become the “leadership standards” of the new era.
We Vietnamese people inherently “Being proud is easy, being self-conscious is difficult”. But only when we have true “self-consciousness”, that is, not accepting to fall behind, not willing to stand still, not satisfied with the title... but must have “self-consciousness, self-respect” because we are “the biggest in the country” to make every effort for that title. From there, we can truly be worthy of the trust and expectations of the People and of the history that is changing in this highland - coastal land full of potential.
