Phan Thiet: During the season of catching small fish, people earn millions of dong every day.

On rivers such as Ca Ty, Phu Hai and Thanh Hai, dozens of groups of people flock to the river from early morning to rake for small fish. This job only lasts about 5-10 days, when fish appear densely along the banks. Each group usually has about 10 people, using nets and manual tools to rake fish continuously from morning to evening.

Currently, young fish are purchased by traders at prices ranging from 1.6 to 1.8 million VND/kg. After being caught, the fish are mainly sold to cage farms in Khanh Hoa province , and then raised into adult fish for export to foreign markets. This is an important source of raw materials in the high-quality aquaculture industry.

Although seasonal, the small-scale fishing profession has become an important source of livelihood, helping many riverside households in Phan Thiet significantly improve their income.
