Launching the "Make in Vietnam Digital Technology Product" Award 2024

NDO - On August 22, in Hanoi , the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) held a press conference to announce and launch the " Make in Vietnam Digital Technology Product" Award in 2024.

The “Make in Vietnam Digital Technology Product” Award is a prestigious and official award in the field of information technology and communications by the Ministry of Information and Communications to be presented annually to Vietnamese organizations and enterprises with outstanding digital technology products researched, designed, created, and manufactured in Vietnam to solve Vietnamese problems and go international. This is an activity to concretize Directive No. 01/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister dated January 14, 2020 on promoting the development of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises. 2024 is the 5th year the award has been held to honor outstanding digital technology products, bringing pride to Vietnamese intelligence, creating new momentum for economic growth, creating national competitive advantages and increasing labor productivity, creating more practical and comprehensive results that bring value to people and businesses in digital transformation, developing the digital economy for industries, socio-economic fields and new digital technology products. The award also continues to honor Vietnamese digital technology products that conquer the world, contribute to the development of humanity and make Vietnam prosperous. Speaking at the award launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized that the award is an important and specific activity of the Ministry of Information and Communications to support trade promotion, investment, promote domestic consumption, boost exports for products, services, solutions and new business models.

The Award also contributes to bringing digital application innovations of digital technology enterprises to promote labor productivity in economic sectors and fields participating in the industrialization and modernization of the country. After 5 years of organization, the Award has attracted many registered products. Many award-winning products of enterprises have been applied in practice, making an important contribution to the national digital transformation, promoting the digital transformation process of sectors and fields more quickly and effectively. The Ministry of Information and Communications will coordinate with VCCI to select and award Gold, Silver, Bronze and Top 10 Awards to the best digital technology products. The Ministry is committed to accompanying the award-winning enterprises to bring digital technology products to a wider market and further. "I call on the Vietnamese digital technology business community to respond and actively participate in this Award so that the Ministry of Information and Communications will find and honor the best and most deserving Make in Vietnam products in 2024," Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong launched. According to Mr. Hoang Quang Phong, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry , in 4 years of organization, the Award has discovered and found 234 Make in Vietnam digital technology products.

Mr. Hoang Quang Phong said: “This is a meaningful number and we can proudly show the world that Vietnam's intellectual products, digital science and technology have been and are "on the stage", ready to "fight" into the competitive environment in the digital economy. The business community and people can enjoy the scientific achievements of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises". On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Award, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Technology and Communications Industry (Ministry of Information and Communications) said that the Make in Vietnam Award 2024 will include 8 categories. Of which, there are 5 categories for digital technology products serving digital transformation, digital economic development in industries and fields (Industry and construction; Agriculture, natural resources and environment; Transport, post and logistics; Education, health, culture, society; Finance, banking, trade, services). The Make in Vietnam Awards 2024 will retain the same two categories as in 2023: Outstanding Digital Products for Foreign Markets; Potential Digital Products and add the category of Outstanding New Digital Products.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, the subjects participating in the 2024 Award have some changes including: For the potential digital technology product category: Only applicable to micro, small enterprises or innovative startups established under Vietnamese law (if it is a foreign-invested enterprise, Vietnamese people must own at least 51% of the total shares). For the category of outstanding digital technology products for foreign markets: in addition to the subjects being domestic enterprises with Vietnamese people holding controlling shares, the subjects are added to be enterprises established abroad but with Vietnamese people owning at least 51% of the total shares. The time for receiving registration and documents to participate in the Award is from August 22, 2024 to October 22, 2024. The award ceremony will be held within the framework of the National Forum on Developing Vietnamese Digital Technology Enterprises in December 2024.
