New findings on the best times to eat breakfast and dinner to avoid stroke.

More than one-third of adults have metabolic syndrome, which includes conditions such as high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high cholesterol, and obesity, increasing the risk of heart attack, stroke, and type 2 diabetes.

American scientists have just published a study in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine , discovering a simple way to reduce the risk of stroke. According to the science website Science Alert , this research offers new hope in preventing serious health conditions. This finding could pave the way for more effective approaches. Let's explore how to protect your health from these advanced studies.

Restricting eating times within an 8-10 hour window has significantly improved metabolic syndrome.

A research team from the Salk Institute and the University of California San Diego (USA) conducted a three-month trial on 108 people with metabolic syndrome, with an average age of 59.

All participants received nutritional counseling, but one group followed a time-restricted diet while a control group ate according to their normal schedule.

Before the study began, the average meal times of the participants were over 14 hours apart (e.g., breakfast at 6 am, dinner at 8 pm).

During the study, the time-restricted eating group reduced their meal times to 8-10 hours (for example, breakfast at 8 am, dinner at 4-6 pm).

Reduces the risk of stroke, heart attack, and diabetes.

The results were promising: restricting eating time to 8-10 hours a day significantly improved metabolic syndrome, thereby reducing the risk of stroke, heart attack, and diabetes.

Specifically, at the end of the study, the time-restricted eating group showed improvements in key biomarkers related to blood sugar and cholesterol levels, as well as long-term blood sugar regulation.

They also lost weight, reduced belly fat, and increased their body mass index without losing muscle mass, all of which led to a reduced risk of heart attack, stroke, and diabetes.

Metabolic syndrome increases the risk of heart attack, stroke, and type 2 diabetes.

Specifically, they also significantly improved their mean arterial pressure (HbA1c) levels, which means a reduced risk of developing type 2 diabetes or slowing the progression of diabetes, according to Science Alert.

Biologist Satchidananda Panda from the Salk Institute explains: The reason changing meal times works so well is because the body processes sugar and fat very differently depending on the time of day.

According to the authors, this is a promising starting point that most people can try.

Professor Pam Taub, a cardiologist at the University of California, said: Patients with metabolic syndrome have cardiovascular risk factors such as high blood pressure, high blood sugar, abdominal fat, high blood lipids, and low levels of good cholesterol. If left untreated, this can lead to serious and chronic conditions such as heart attack, stroke, and diabetes.

Researchers suggest this method could be a good and easy way to treat metabolic syndrome, as it only requires changing meal times without changing the food itself, according to Science Alert.
