(Dan Tri) - The ship with 4 foreign letters and the registration number 26056 drifted into the sea more than 30 nautical miles from Ly Son Island ( Quang Ngai ). Ly Son fishermen pulled the ship back to the island to report to the police.
On the afternoon of November 3, Ms. Pham Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Ly Son district (Quang Ngai province), said that the Police and Border Guard are coordinating to investigate the origin of the fishing boat drifting at sea.
Two days earlier, Mr. Nguyen Manh (55 years old, Ly Son district) and 6 fishermen fishing in the East of Ly Son island discovered a drifting boat.

Upon inspection, Mr. Manh discovered that there was no one on board. The fishing boat’s engine was broken, and some remaining items such as plastic baskets and electrical equipment were also damaged. Mr. Manh towed the abandoned fishing boat to Ly Son Island to report to the authorities.
The Border Guard identified this as a 15m long wooden boat. The bow of the boat has 4 Chinese characters and the number 26056.
According to Ly Son fishermen, the boat may have been fishing when it encountered a storm, causing the engine to break down and be abandoned at sea.
"Up to this point, it is still impossible to determine which country this ship belongs to and the reason why the ship drifted at sea. The police and the Border Guard are coordinating to investigate and will have an official conclusion tomorrow," said Ms. Huong.
