Discovered and seized illegal goods worth more than 70 million VND at Oc market

On the morning of June 5, the provincial interdisciplinary inspection team chaired by the Department of Industry and Trade conducted a surprise inspection at Business Point No. 10 of Hong Phuc Import-Export and Trading Company Limited, located at Oc Market (Thuong Coc Commune, Lac Son District). Through the inspection, the authorities discovered and temporarily seized many infringing goods with a total value of over 70 million VND.

The provincial interdisciplinary inspection team conducted a surprise inspection at Business Point No. 10 of Hong Phuc Import-Export & Trading Company Limited, located at Oc Market (Thuong Coc Commune, Lac Son District).

At the time of inspection, the facility had full business registration certificates and retail licenses for tobacco and fertilizers as prescribed. However, through actual inspection, the team discovered many products including: 53 hair dryers, 91 rice cookers, 105 kettles, 58 flashlights, 370 pairs of plastic sandals and 107 plastic headgears (shaped like helmets) without Vietnamese sub-labels, unknown origin, the facility owner could not present invoices or related documents.

The inspection team has drawn up a record, temporarily detained the entire shipment for further verification and clarification, and proposed handling in accordance with legal regulations. The total value of the infringing goods is estimated at over 70 million VND.

Implementing the direction in Official Dispatch No. 65/CD-TTg dated May 15, 2025 and Directive No. 13/CT-TTg dated May 17, 2025 of the Prime Minister , the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province has established a Working Group on the peak of the fight to prevent and repel crimes of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. The peak period lasts from May 15 to June 15, 2025. Thereby aiming to tighten market discipline, strictly handle smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. The focus is on essential goods such as gasoline, food, cigarettes, cosmetics, gold and silver, consumer goods... at traditional markets, warehouses, e-commerce platforms and key areas in the province.

According to Mr. Duong Quoc Thang, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Head of the inspection team, in the coming time, the interdisciplinary inspection team will continue to conduct inspections in key areas such as traditional markets, commercial centers, establishments trading in liquefied petroleum gas, alcohol, gold and silver, etc. to prevent and thoroughly handle acts of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the whole province.
