Hoa Binh Provincial Women's Union donated a set of computers to the Chieng On Commune Women's Union, Yen Chau District, Son La Province.
Comrade Ha Thi Binh, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, said: Right from the beginning of the term, closely following the plan and guidance documents of the Central Union, the Provincial Women's Union has developed a specific plan, mobilized resources, and mobilized socialization to implement support activities to the right addresses and right subjects.
The highlight of the direction is the effective coordination between the Provincial Women's Union, the Border Guard and local authorities in each activity. The Union sent a dispatch asking for opinions and received consensus from the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, mobilizing resources from the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and member organizations, creating a solid financial foundation to implement the program.
Over the past 5 years, the program has been implemented with many practical contents. Propaganda work has been promoted with a focus on: Raising awareness of border sovereignty protection, propagating the Vietnam Border Law, ethnic and religious policies and guidelines; mobilizing text messages of support through Portal 1400, launching widely on social networks and the Association's communication channels.
In addition to propaganda, the Association focuses on supporting women in developing a sustainable economy. A typical example is the livelihood model "Raising breeding cows" in Muong Hung commune, with 13 poor female members receiving breeding cows, worth a total of 117 million VND. To date, the model has grown to 19 cows, including 5 pregnant cows, continuing to bring sustainable economic benefits to participating households. The model was built with the motto of "conditional support", "promoting internal strength" in conjunction with local realities and experience from the previous model in Chieng On.
Not stopping at livelihood, the Association pays attention to social security such as building 2 charity houses, giving dozens of gifts to poor students and women, donating computers to grassroots Associations in border areas... with a total value of activities of over 200 million VND.
Comrade Ha Thi Binh, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, shared: "We clearly feel the changes in the lives of women in the border areas. From initial shyness and self-consciousness, they have boldly participated in the economic model, actively promoted the Union's movement, and contributed to protecting border security. That is a vivid proof of the effectiveness and humanity of the program."
Comrade Ngo Thi Thuy, Head of the Family, Society and Economy Department, Provincial Women's Union, who has directly surveyed and implemented the program many times, said: "The acceptance of women in the border areas is the motivation for us to constantly strive. Each trip is a journey of sharing and bonding, a testament to the close relationship between ethnic groups and the affection of Hoa Binh women for women on the front lines of the Fatherland."
The program "Accompanying women in the border areas" for the period 2021 - 2025 has created a bright spot in the work of the Union and the provincial women's movement. Although there are still many difficulties in terms of resources, infrastructure or harsh weather conditions, with determination, creativity and a passionate heart, the Hoa Binh Provincial Women's Union has continued to build bridges of humanity, connecting love from the lowlands to the border.
In the next phase, the Association will continue to promote internal strength, proactively mobilize more social resources, effectively maintain the implemented models, focus on replicating livelihood models, and enhance the application of information technology in the grassroots Associations in border areas. The journey to accompany women in the border areas is not only a charity and support program, but also a vivid symbol of the spirit of solidarity, sharing and responsibility of Hoa Binh women towards their compatriots at the border of the Fatherland.
