Promoting the role of the press in the development of Dong Thap province

Attending the seminar were Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan; leaders and former leaders of Dong Thap provincial press agencies through the periods; along with journalists and reporters from central and local press agencies.

At the seminar, journalists said that in order to adapt to the trend of information development in the digital age, the press needs to improve the quality of news articles, diversify content and forms of propaganda. In particular, it is necessary to focus on digital transformation, innovate operating methods to keep up with modern media trends, create characteristics for each type, and media products must have the breath of life. In addition, the press needs to do a good job of training and fostering human resources, strengthening political and ideological education for reporters and editors.

At the seminar, delegates who are leaders and former leaders of press agencies said that it is necessary to diversify the content and form of propaganda in the trend of modern journalism.

Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province Huynh Thi Hoai Thu said that the press is a bridge between the government and the people, helping to convey people's opinions and aspirations to authorities for appropriate policy adjustments.

According to Ms. Huynh Thi Hoai Thu, the press discovers and reflects violations and pressing issues in public opinion, helping localities and units promptly overcome limitations and handle violations right at the grassroots level, creating new and diverse press products that are in line with modern technological trends. She hopes that the press will always play an important role on the ideological and cultural front, contributing greatly to the revolutionary cause, building and defending the Fatherland.
