After merging administrative units, the Youth Union at the grassroots level is gradually adapting to the new apparatus as the area becomes larger and the population is more dense. In that context, the role of young party members becomes more important, especially in orienting ideology and raising political awareness for union members and young people.
With a sense of responsibility and exemplary behavior, many party members have become the core force in youth work, contributing to maintaining the movement and arousing the desire to contribute in the young generation.
From "red nucleus" to inspiration
As Deputy Secretary of the Dak To Commune Youth Union, Quang Ngai Province, young Party member A Kam is always a pioneer in educating revolutionary ideals for union members and youth in ethnic minority areas. Before Po Ko Commune merged into Dak To Commune, he held the position of Secretary of the Po Ko Commune Youth Union. Regardless of his position, A Kam always wonders: How to bring the Party's resolutions closer to the youth, so that union members understand, trust and act according to the Party's guidelines. Closely following the local action programs, he and the Commune Youth Union Executive Committee actively carry out activities associated with the Campaign "Changing the thinking and working methods of ethnic minorities, helping them to escape poverty sustainably". At the Youth Union meetings, A Kam always emphasizes the role of youth in developing household economies , especially when production support policies are becoming more specific and practical.
Many economic models implemented by young people in Dak To commune have brought about clear results: The model of growing high-yield cassava HN5 in Kon Tu Dop 2 village brings in an income of about 90 million VND/year; the model of raising freshwater fish with the participation of three ethnic minority youth members, each person earns more than 60 million VND/year; the model of raising goats for breeding in Kon Tu Dop 1 village; the model of converting mixed gardens into clean vegetable gardens... all originate from the spirit of innovative thinking and are closely supported by the Youth Union.
In addition, Mr. A Kam also regularly propagates economic development policies and guidelines. Not only does he stop at communicating, he and the young party members in the commune also directly accompany the union members in the process of starting a business, building an economic model, and promptly resolving difficulties.
“To help ethnic minority youth change their thinking, party members must first be dedicated and set an example. Only when we practice what we preach can we create trust and consensus among union members,” Mr. A Kam affirmed.
In Ngok Tu commune, Ms. Huynh Thi Mai Yen, Deputy Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, is also a young party member who is always enthusiastic about political and ideological education for union members and youth. For Ms. Yen, each party member in the Youth Union organization not only has the task of organizing activities, but also has to be a bridge between the youth and the Party, and a leader in the training and maturity of the young generation. Ms. Yen said that the work of educating revolutionary ideals and ethics is always integrated throughout the movement activities. In particular, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics and style is always included in specific action programs, associated with each model and each activity at the grassroots level.
In recent times, the Ngoc Tu Commune Youth Union has carried out many thematic learning activities and political and ideological activities under general guidance, associated with the content of responsibility, dedication and devotion to work. These activities are flexibly organized through many forms such as thematic activities at the Youth Union branch, sharing via social networks, exchanging in the internal Zalo group and the Commune Youth Union's Facebook page... Thereby, hundreds of union members and young people have access to official information, raising awareness and understanding the role of young people in building their homeland.
In addition, Ms. Yen pays special attention to grasping the thoughts and public opinions of young people. Through the activities of the Youth Union, she and the Executive Committee regularly exchange and listen to the reflections of the Youth Union members, especially the difficulties in studying, working, and starting a business. The opinions are then summarized and proposed to the Party Committee for consideration and resolution. "If Party members cannot demonstrate an exemplary role in all aspects of life, it is very difficult to inspire young people," Ms. Yen shared.
"Bridge between the Union and the Party"
In the current period, when the Youth Union is facing increasing demands for innovation in content and methods of operation in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the directions of the Central Youth Union, young Party members play a key role. They are the important "bridge" to convey the Party's policies and guidelines to the youth in the most familiar, easy-to-understand and easy-to-receive way.
Young party members like A Kam and Mai Yen are positive factors, making an important contribution to spreading the spirit of innovation, creativity and aspiration to rise up among the youth. They not only play a core role in the work of the Youth Union, but are also the main force in the process of discovering, nurturing and introducing outstanding members to the Party for consideration of admission.
Under their guidance, many young members have confidently registered for Party sympathy classes, actively participated in volunteer activities for the community, and revolutionary action movements in the locality. In particular, with good models and effective methods, commune Youth Union organizations have gradually become a solid support for young people to place their trust and arouse a sense of responsibility towards the community.
Many good models and creative ways of economic development, environmental protection, preservation of national cultural identity, etc. are being widely replicated thanks to the correct orientation of the Youth Union, with young party members as the core force.
The role of party members in youth work does not stop at organizing movement activities, but also acts as a “fire-bearer”, a companion and an important bridge between the Party and the young generation. To build a strong Youth Union organization and promote the core role of youth in the cause of national renewal, it is necessary to pay attention and invest properly in young party members, especially in remote areas and ethnic minority areas. When exemplary and pioneering party members maintain their “bridge” role, the Youth Union will always be a “common home”, a place to sow the seeds of ideals and arouse the desire to contribute in today’s young generation.
