The public visits the thematic exhibition "Archaeological discoveries from Banana Garden". |
The special exhibition "Archaeological discoveries from Vuon Chuoi" was quite impressively organized by the Organizing Committee. The entrance to the exhibition area was created like a small, long and winding alley, reminding people of the arduous journey (more than 10 years of excavation) of Vuon Chuoi before being recognized as an archaeological site of Vuon Chuoi. In our country, there are probably few places like Vuon Chuoi Relic: An ancient village of the Vietnamese people that appeared about 4,000 years ago, used for thousands of years and went through many stages of cultural development, from Phung Nguyen-Dong Dau-Go Mun culture to Dong Son and post-Dong Son. Since its first discovery in 1969, Vuon Chuoi has been excavated 11 times to serve the research process, bringing many important discoveries about the working life, daily activities, customs and habits... of ancient Vietnamese residents.
The exhibition "Archaeological discoveries from Vuon Chuoi" is an opportunity for the public to learn more about the origin and feel the vitality of archaeological heritage in modern life. The exhibition has 5 themes: Journey of discovery; convergence and crystallization of cultures; protection and promotion of the heritage value of Vuon Chuoi site; scientists associated with Vuon Chuoi; and the experience corner of being an archaeologist. In a space of 750m2, visitors can admire nearly 1,000 documents, artifacts, images, and maps simulating the daily life of ancient Vietnamese residents from many periods from Phung Nguyen to Dong Son. Interwoven into the exhibitions are 3D projection technology (3D, 3D mapping) and short films. Thanks to that, anyone who comes here and immerses themselves in each story will not only have a visual, vivid experience of history from the dawn of Vietnamese culture but also feel gratitude, pride, and emotion about their origin.
Visiting the exhibition and evaluating the impact of archaeological heritage in contemporary life, Professor, Dr. Lam Thi My Dung (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) commented: "If there is a mechanism to protect, manage and exploit heritage in a transparent and scientific manner, archaeology can completely bring economic value through the development of cultural industry. The artifacts in this exhibition can be designed into souvenir products such as postcards, models, gifts... In the future, we can aim to build an archaeological park at Vuon Chuoi Relic to serve tourism development and community education"./.
