Comprehensive, fast and sustainable tourism development

Over the years, Quang Ninh has always identified tourism as one of its key economic sectors. The province prioritizes the development of the smokeless industry with the goal of turning Quang Ninh into a safe, friendly, hospitable destination, a national service center of international stature.

One good thing is that the orientation and planning for tourism development in Quang Ninh is consistent with Vietnam's tourism development strategy, when recently Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed and issued Directive 08/CT-TTg on comprehensive, rapid and sustainable tourism development with the motto "Close connection - Harmonious coordination - Extensive cooperation - Comprehensive coverage - Sustainable efficiency". The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to focus on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector; create strong and practical changes in public-private cooperation; resolutely cut and simplify administrative procedures and actively inspect and supervise compliance with reduced and simplified tourism business conditions to create the most favorable conditions for people and businesses to participate in the tourism industry's input supply chain, form a tourism value chain, link national and global tourism to actively contribute to the country's overall socio-economic development.

The People's Committees of provinces and cities, according to their assigned authority and tasks, shall strengthen state management of tourism in their localities, implement solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, promote comprehensive, rapid and sustainable tourism development; focus on a number of key tasks such as directing organizations and individuals doing tourism business to strictly list prices publicly and sell at the listed prices; inspect and supervise the strict implementation of tax obligations to the State; resolutely handle all violations in accordance with the law, including suspending business and revoking licenses; strictly handle organizations and individuals who assist and cover up violations, profiteering from solicitation, price gouging, false advertising... in tourism business activities. At the same time, create a favorable business environment, encourage innovation, creative startups, develop business forces, and form many tourism businesses with strong brands; Support small and medium enterprises and tourism businesses to apply science and technology, promote digital transformation and access capital sources. At the same time, effectively implement governance models and public-private partnerships in tourism development in the spirit of "harmonized benefits and shared risks"; promptly issue incentive mechanisms and policies to effectively mobilize resources from businesses, especially large businesses, to invest in tourism development; ensure security and safety for tourists, focusing on environmental sanitation and food hygiene and safety; encourage the participation of people and businesses in building a cultural, civilized, friendly and hospitable tourism environment according to the motto "Each citizen is a tourism ambassador"; raise people's awareness associated with environmental education and the preservation and restoration of cultural and historical relics and natural landscapes; Promote propaganda, dissemination and guidance for organizations and individuals doing tourism business to comply with the provisions of the law on environmental protection. In Quang Ninh, in recent years, tourism has become a key economic sector, with an average of over 10 million visitors coming to visit and relax each year, thereby contributing positively to the province's economic growth. Typically, in the first months of 2024, the total number of tourists to Quang Ninh reached over 10.4 million, of which international visitors reached over 2 million. Quang Ninh with its diverse types of tourism, unique natural landscapes, synchronous and modern economic, social and transportation infrastructure has brought attractiveness to tourists. Quang Ninh has been promoting and attracting tourists sustainably and becoming a year-round, four-season destination that cannot be missed. In which, focusing on expanding tourism space, expanding regional and intra-regional connectivity space associated with key tourism destinations, focusing on conserving and effectively exploiting the heritage values, world natural wonders of Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, Yen Tu scenic relic site...; increasing social resources to invest in tourism infrastructure development, especially in Van Don Economic Zone, Mong Cai Border Gate Economic Zone, on the sea areas of Tien Yen, Dam Ha; attracting investment, developing tourism products, developing tourism businesses; strengthening the work of ensuring the tourism environment, ensuring security and safety for tourists, tourism security... The goal for 2024 is that Quang Ninh strives to attract at least 17 million tourists, including 3 million international visitors. To realize the set tasks, Quang Ninh will promote, promote and connect to attract tourists, especially international tourists. At the same time, focus on creating breakthroughs, developing tourism products and services associated with improving the quality of service to tourists.
