By the end of 2024, the province will have 731 cooperatives, of which 441 are operating, have been granted tax codes and have declared taxes. To improve the efficiency of the collective economy in the new era, the province has supported cooperatives in registering, managing and developing geographical indication products, certified trademarks, collective trademarks, and products participating in the OCOP program that have been certified.
Connecting and supporting collective economic organizations to participate in investment promotion programs, exhibition fairs to introduce and promote products to the market; applying high technology, cooperative models linking production and consumption of safe agricultural products according to VietGAP standards; connecting cooperatives with enterprises to implement production - consumption chains of agricultural products, food and goods.
Along with that, the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 04 dated May 5, 2023 on a number of policies to support the development of collective economy in the province. Including support for dissolution and transformation of collective economic organizations; improving capacity and awareness for the collective economic sector; investing in infrastructure and product processing. The total budget from the provincial budget allocated to implement the Resolution until the end of 2025 is nearly 60 billion VND.
Thereby, it aims to create added value for products; develop collective economic organizations associated with the development of green economy, circular economy, knowledge economy; build a digital transformation ecosystem in cooperatives.
To date, the province has more than 130 agricultural cooperatives applying information technology in business operations and management; more than 80 agricultural cooperatives applying smart agriculture and having e-commerce activities.
Proactively seizing the opportunities brought by the digital age to develop and adapt to new development trends, Nhan Ly Agricultural Service Cooperative, Phu Xuan Commune (Binh Xuyen) has introduced mechanization into planting; linked with businesses to deploy organic rice production.
Up to now, the cooperative has formed an organic production area with a cultivation area of over 150 hectares with 2,450 participating members, thereby building the brand "Phu Xuan Delicious Rice" with a solid position in the market.
Ms. Le Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Cooperative, said: To bring mechanization and apply science and technology into production to reduce labor costs, the Cooperative has mobilized members to contribute capital to invest in 7 land preparation machines, 6 transplanters, 1 tray seedling sowing machine, more than 10,000 trays of seedling sowing and 1 rice dryer.
Cooperate with enterprises to deploy the technology field model, synchronously implementing mechanization from sowing, tilling, planting and caring by machine, using drones to fertilize and spray pesticides. Currently, 100% of the cooperative's cultivated area has been mechanized with a yield of 63 quintals/ha; purchasing and consuming 50% of the agricultural products produced by members.
In the context of rapid development of science and technology today, many opportunities and challenges are posed, requiring cooperatives to change their management methods to suit the development of the new stage.
In particular, promoting internal resources to proactively innovate, promoting joint ventures, associations, applying science and technology, digital transformation in production management and product consumption; innovating management models and methods; proactively seizing opportunities brought by the digital age to develop and adapt to new development trends.
Along with that, the province continues to mobilize and take advantage of investment resources, apply high technology, cooperative models linking production and consumption of safe agricultural products according to VietGAP standards; support cooperatives in applying new science and technology to production, preservation and processing of agricultural products, building product brands, providing information, searching for markets, introducing products, joint ventures and associations; select and build pilot models of new-style cooperatives, with effective chain linkages according to the Law on Cooperatives, periodically and annually evaluate and draw lessons and widely replicate.
