A tragic situation needs help

Mr. Dam Quang Trung is being treated intensively at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital.

Ms. Pham Thi Tuyen, wife of Mr. Dam Quang Trung, recounted: On the afternoon of April 21, 2025, Mr. Trung and a friend named Binh went to Ao Vang hamlet (Cao Ngan commune, Thai Nguyen city) to install a corrugated iron roof for the factory of Thai Nguyen Casting Joint Stock Company. While Mr. Trung was holding an iron ruler to measure and calculate the construction plan for the roof, he was electrocuted by the power line above and fainted on the spot.

After giving Mr. Trung CPR, people at the scene took him to Dong Hy District General Hospital for first aid, then transferred him to Thai Nguyen Central Hospital for treatment.

Due to severe burns from the electric discharge, the treating doctor was forced to amputate both of Trung's arms. In addition, he also suffered deep burns in many places throughout his body and acute kidney failure. Currently, he is continuing to receive intensive treatment at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital.

Trung’s family has 5 members, including his mother who is over 70 years old, his wife and two children (one in 7th grade, one in 2nd grade). The family’s house is dilapidated and leaking everywhere. Trung is the main breadwinner, while Tuyen only sells vegetables at a small market, with an unstable income. Now that the family’s breadwinner is in trouble, all medical expenses must be borrowed, making life extremely difficult.

Through Thai Nguyen Newspaper, Mr. Trung and Ms. Tuyen hope to receive support and help from agencies, organizations, and philanthropists so that the family can have the conditions to treat Mr. Trung's injuries.
