On July 3, Mr. Pham Hoang Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Behavior, chaired the 9th regular meeting of the Steering Committee. Attending the meeting were members of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Behavior of Thai Nguyen province.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the Steering Committee has closely followed the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws; the direction of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negativity; the actual situation, political tasks and requirements of the province and promoted the role and responsibility of each member of the Steering Committee to direct the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity and achieved positive results, contributing to maintaining political security, order, social safety, creating a favorable environment to serve the socio-economic development tasks of the locality. The Steering Committee focused on leading and directing Party committees and organizations at all levels to synchronously implement "prevention" solutions and proactively "detect and handle" corruption and negativity cases strictly, promptly and in accordance with regulations, linking corruption prevention and combat with the prevention and combat of degradation and negativity among cadres and Party members. Directing competent agencies to strengthen the work of grasping the situation; Inspect and examine the management of mineral resources, mineral exploitation activities, progress and quality management in construction investment projects, auctions and bidding to promptly detect loopholes and shortcomings, prevent, rectify and handle violations in these areas; promote the detection, investigation and handling of corruption and negative cases and focus on asset recovery in corruption and negative cases.
In the first 6 months of 2024, the Investigation Police Agency investigated 12 cases, 48 defendants for corruption and position crimes; the People's Court at two levels tried 12 cases at first instance and on appeal, 17 defendants for corruption and position crimes. The Steering Committee agreed to remove the case of "Asset embezzlement" occurring at Thai Nguyen Urban Infrastructure Development and Drainage One Member Limited Liability Company from the list of monitoring and direction; continue to monitor and direct 06 corruption and economic cases.
In the coming time, the Steering Committee requests Party committees, Party organizations, agencies and units to: Continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement the Party's regulations and the State's laws on the prevention and fight against corruption and negativity; effectively organize the implementation of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee's Directives on strengthening leadership and direction in bidding, auctioning, public investment; compensation, site clearance; construction; mineral resources in the province. Competent agencies strengthen inspection, supervision and examination, focusing on areas prone to corruption and negativity. Implement well the coordination mechanism in detecting and handling corruption and negativity through inspection, supervision, investigation, prosecution, trial and execution. The prosecution agencies speed up the verification, investigation and handling of corruption and negative cases, especially the two cases under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee: The case of "Giving bribes" and "Receiving bribes" related to training, testing and granting of driving licenses; The case of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" and "Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences" occurring from 2017 to present at the Thang Loi extended residential area project, Song Cong city; Strengthen the effectiveness of the supervision activities of People's Councils at all levels, the Fatherland Front , mass organizations and people in the work of preventing and combating corruption and negative cases./.
