Regular meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Warsaw

On January 16, in Warsaw, Poland, the regular meeting of the ASEAN Committee of the World (ACW) took place at the private residence of the Indonesian Ambassador, chaired by the Indonesian Ambassador, current Chairman of the ASEAN Committee.

The meeting was attended by Ambassadors from Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, the Vietnamese Charge d'Affaires and members of the ASEAN Working Group. This is the first meeting of the ACW Committee in 2024.

The meeting reviewed ASEAN's achievements in 2023, notably ASEAN's basic completion of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 with the orientation of building a dynamic, creative, self-reliant and people-centered ASEAN.

The meeting also outlined ASEAN's orientations in 2024, when Laos is the chair, with the theme "Promoting connectivity and resilience", prioritizing enhancing connectivity, consolidating solidarity, unity and the central role of ASEAN as well as promoting the building of the ASEAN Community.

Accordingly, the activities of the ASEAN Committee in Warsaw will also be carried out in line with the bloc's common priorities and orientations, emphasizing economic cooperation, people-to-people exchange, and strengthening ASEAN's role in regional and global issues...

The meeting also agreed on activities expected to be implemented in the first 6 months of 2024, including a program of courtesy visits between ASEAN Ambassadors and the Polish Foreign Minister, a meeting with the Poland-ASEAN Friendship Parliamentarians after the formation of the new government, participation in an economic promotion workshop, a program to promote cuisine and culture between ASEAN countries and Poland, and the organization of an ASEAN Sports Day in Poland.
