On the morning of April 11, at the press conference to inform about the socio-economic situation of Da Nang City in the first quarter of 2025 organized by the City People's Committee, Ms. Le Thi Bich Thuan, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang, informed about the reflection that the boarding meals of a primary school in the area had only a few slices of food.
According to Ms. Thuan, the Department always focuses on professional work and organizing boarding schools to improve the quality of students.
"After receiving information reflecting on the meals at Nui Thanh Primary School, we discussed with the Department of Education and Training to work with the school, reviewing all the content about preparing meals for students at school that day," said Ms. Thuan.

After this incident, Ms. Thuan said that the Department has requested and suggested that the Department of Education and Training in the city regularly implement the Department's instructions on professional work, especially boarding work at schools to improve the quality of meals for children.
At the press conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, requested the Department of Education and Training to direct schools to pay more attention to the quality and transparency of the menu when organizing boarding meals for parents to monitor.
In addition, parents can also come to check on their children's meals at any time, without having to register in advance. This is to give parents peace of mind that their children are being fully cared for in terms of meals and nutrition.

Previously, VietNamNet reported that on parent groups in Da Nang, an anonymous post about the boarding meals was spread, allegedly from Nui Thanh Primary School, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City.
Attached to the post is a picture of a lunch tray with some spring rolls, stir-fried cabbage and white rice. In response to this information, many people said that the school should review the lunch because it is not nutritious enough.
According to Ms. Phan Thi Tuyet Lan, Principal of Nui Thanh Primary School, the information posted on social media is incorrect. In fact, the photo was taken when the head teacher was distributing food on March 25. The meals that day included pork rolls with soy sauce, sour fish cake soup, stir-fried vegetables with lean meat, rice cakes for dessert, and beef and mung bean porridge for snack. Each lunch meal costs 28,000 VND, including lunch and snack.
