According to a VNA reporter reporting from Norway, on the evening of November 24 local time, within the framework of an official visit to the Kingdom of Norway, VicePresident Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited the Vietnamese Embassy and met with the Vietnamese community in Norway.

Attending the meeting were all officials, staff of the Embassy and their relatives, along with a large number of Vietnamese people in Norway. Reporting to the Vice President, Vietnamese Ambassador to Norway Dinh Nho Hung said that with over 23,000 people, the Vietnamese community in Norway is the largest Vietnamese community in the Nordic region. They have a stable life, integrate well, and contribute to the socio -economic development and cultural diversity of the locality. The younger generation is attached to their homeland, most of whom can still speak Vietnamese. The community also regularly conducts investment and volunteer activities in Vietnam, actively supporting the Embassy in foreign affairs. At the meeting, many people expressed their emotion at welcoming Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan to visit; saying that this is a proud event and an honor for the community. The people said that despite many years, the community always looks towards their homeland, has many activities to connect the locality with Vietnam, increase the understanding of Norwegian people with Vietnam and hope that the State will create favorable conditions in the issue of legal documents and household registration to further strengthen the attachment to the country. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan informed the people about the country's socio-economic development and the main results achieved during her visit to Norway. The Vice President hopes and believes that the Vietnamese people will continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, unity, and join hands to build a strong and developing community; further promote good deeds for the host country, the country and the Vietnam - Norway relationship; be an important bridge, contributing to consolidating and developing the relationship between the two countries, promoting Vietnamese culture and image abroad. The Vice President also asked the Embassy to continue to do well in foreign affairs on the one hand, and pay attention to doing well in community work on the other hand; support and help build a united, developing Vietnamese community in Norway, always looking towards the homeland; promptly grasp the thoughts, aspirations, and recommendations of the Vietnamese people to have proposals and solutions for the country. * During the visit, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan also visited the family of Ms. Mai Thi Minh Khai, an overseas Vietnamese family with a rich tradition of patriotism, studiousness, and always wholeheartedly looking towards the homeland.
