Teachers assessed that the Math exam for grade 10 has a familiar structure, similar to recent years, so it is easy for students to access, many students can achieve 7.5 points or higher.
On the morning of June 11, more than 104,000 candidates finished the Math exam - the last subject for admission to public grade 10. The Math exam consisted of five questions, including a 3-point geometry question, with a 120-minute time limit.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong, Head of Math, Ly Thai To Secondary and High School (Cau Giay District) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, Deputy Head of Natural Science 1, Thanh Cong Secondary School (Ba Dinh District), both commented that the exam had a familiar structure, similar to previous years.
According to Ms. Hong, the arrangement of questions is reasonable, closely following the curriculum and review, ensuring that students' knowledge and skills are covered. The ratio of questions at the recognition and comprehension levels is about 70%, and the application and high application levels are about 30%.
Both teachers thought that the last idea of the geometry lesson and lesson 5 was to classify students, similar to every year.

Ms. Luong Thi Lien, Head of Math Group 9, Thai Thinh Secondary School, Dong Da District, analyzed in more detail.
With exercise 1 (2 points), students can easily get 1.5 points for the first two ideas. The third idea requires finding the value of x to be a bit more advanced, requiring students to know how to apply knowledge flexibly, have good presentation and calculation skills.
Similar to lesson 2, Ms. Lien assessed solving math problems by setting up equations and systems of equations. This is a familiar form, and students have reviewed it a lot so they will not have difficulty.
In exercise 3, the part about solving systems of equations is not difficult, but students can easily lose points for missing or incorrect admission conditions, or not comparing with the admission conditions to eliminate solutions. The part related to Vieta's theorem in this exercise is also at a basic level, easy to calculate.
Sharing the same opinion, Mr. Dang Van Thuy, a Math teacher at Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School, Cau Giay District, said that in previous years, the last idea of Lesson 1 and the last idea of Lesson 3 often contained "traps" to challenge students to get a 9. However, this year, these two ideas do not contain distracting information, so average students can still get full marks.
Lesson 4 is the geometry part, also the lesson with the highest score - 3 points. Ms. Lien commented that the first two ideas are still at a basic level, but average students may have difficulty with the second. As for the third idea, because it is a question to classify students, students need to know how to analyze and connect with solved questions, with the hypothesis of the problem to find a way to prove it.
"Only students with good analytical skills, who can reason and connect the angles of an inscribed quadrilateral can do this, because the drawing is not easy to see," said Ms. Lien.
Exercise 5 is worth 1 point to classify students. Ms. Lien commented that not many students could solve it.
Overall, teachers believe that students are quite good and do their homework carefully, so they can easily get 9 points or more. The number of 9 points this year will also be higher than previous years. The peak of the score spectrum will be concentrated at around 7.5.

To be admitted to public grade 10, candidates must complete three exams: Math, Literature, and Foreign Language, without violating any regulations and without any score of 0. The admission score is the sum of the Literature and Math scores multiplied by two, plus the Foreign Language score and priority points (if any).
Last year, among 107,000 candidates taking the 10th grade exam in Hanoi , more than 1,380 candidates scored 9 or higher in Literature (accounting for 1.29%), 256 students scored 10 in Math (0.23%) and 3,364 students (3%) scored 10 in Foreign Language. The valedictorian of Hanoi's 10th grade last year achieved a total admission score of 48.5/50 (9.25 in Literature, 10 in Foreign Language and Math).
Tomorrow, about 10,000 students applying to specialized schools will take an additional specialized subject exam. The admission score for specialized 10th grade is the sum of the scores of the three exams Math, Literature, Foreign Language and the specialized subject score multiplied by a factor of two.
This year’s Hanoi public 10th grade exam scores and benchmark scores will be announced on July 4 and July 8-9. If admitted, students will enroll online. From July 18, schools that do not meet their enrollment quota will begin to consider additional enrollment.
