Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son meets the Vietnamese community in Cambodia

At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia Sar Sokha, on November 27, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and a delegation of the Vietnamese Government arrived in Phnom Penh to attend the 13th Conference on Cooperation and Development of Vietnam-Cambodia Border Provinces, held in the Cambodian capital from November 27 to 29.

On the occasion of attending the Conference, on the afternoon of November 27, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and his delegation visited and had a friendly talk with officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Cambodia.

Reporting on the activities in the area to Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and the working delegation, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Minh Vu said that the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia have been promoted by the two countries' senior leaders and are making strong progress in all fields.

Exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially at high levels, continue to be emphasized, demonstrating the highest concern and commitment of the two countries' leaders in building mutual trust and consolidating traditional friendship. Based on a solid foundation of political trust, a series of fields have achieved good progress, in which cooperation in trade and investment stands out.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son sent his warm regards and best wishes to the staff, employees, workers of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Cambodia.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his delight at the growing friendship and cooperation between the two neighboring countries of Cambodia and Vietnam in all fields.

Sharing the difficulties with the people, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that the Party and State always care about the Vietnamese community in Cambodia. The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that the people will continue to unite, support each other, comply with local laws, and develop together.

The Deputy Prime Minister said he will discuss with the Cambodian side to remove difficulties, continue to create more favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Cambodia, help them feel secure in living and doing business, contribute to the development of Cambodia and make practical contributions to consolidating and strengthening the traditional friendship and good neighborliness between the two countries.

Mr. Chau Van Chi, President of the Khmer-Vietnamese Association in Cambodia and Dr. Heng LiHong, Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam-Cambodia Business Association, on behalf of the Vietnamese community in Cambodia and the Vietnamese business community in Cambodia, expressed their gratitude to the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam for their attention and support over the past time so that people can feel secure to do business and live long-term in Cambodia. Representatives of the overseas Vietnamese community also affirmed the spirit of national solidarity and responsibility for the development of their homeland Vietnam.

Earlier the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and his delegation visited Metfone Telecommunications Company, a brand of the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) in Cambodia.

Sending his regards to all officers and employees of the company, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his pride in Metfone's achievements as well as the sense of responsibility and pioneering spirit of the company's officers and employees.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated Metfone's contributions to Cambodia's socio-economic development, as well as its practical social responsibility activities that have helped strengthen the friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Listening to the company's business report and proposals, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son said he would forward these proposals to Cambodian leaders, so that Metfone and other Vietnamese businesses operating and doing business there can have favorable conditions to continue developing, contributing to fostering relations between the two countries.
