On September 11, the Government Office announced that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had just signed Decision 942/QD-TTg to establish the Central Steering Committee for the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census.

Accordingly, the Head of the Steering Committee is Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.

Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee include: Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung (Standing Deputy Head); General Director of the General Statistics Office Nguyen Thi Huong.

Members of the Steering Committee include: Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Hoang Cong Thuy; Deputy Minister of Finance Vo Thanh Hung; Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep; Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Le Minh Ngan; Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong; Vice President of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Nguyen Xuan Dinh; President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance Cao Xuan Thu Van; Deputy Director General of the General Statistics Office Nguyen Trung Tien.

The Steering Committee has the function of reviewing and deciding on plans, strategies and detailed contents of the General Census of Rural and Agricultural Areas; promulgating the plan for the General Census of Rural and Agricultural Areas in 2025.

At the same time, the Minister of Planning and Investment, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee, was assigned to sign the decision to promulgate the plan for the 2025 General Census of Rural and Agricultural Areas and delegate the Deputy Head of the Committee (Director General of the General Statistics Office) to sign documents providing professional guidance and organizing the implementation of the plan for the 2025 General Census of Rural and Agricultural Areas.

The Steering Committee works part-time, is organized and operates according to the regulations attached to this decision and is self-dissolved after completing its tasks.
