Deputy Head of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission meets with American friends supporting Vietnam

During the visit and working session in the US, on April 4-5, the delegation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam's Foreign Affairs Commission led by Mr. Ngo Le Van, Deputy Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Commission, met and worked with representatives of left-wing organizations and movements in the US, including the Communist Party USA.

 

Co-chairing the meeting was Ambassador, Head of the Vietnamese Delegation to the UN Dang Hoang Giang.

 

During the meeting, the delegation was happy and moved to meet again and expressed gratitude for the support and valuable contributions of friends who have always been close to and assisted Vietnam throughout the process of fighting for national independence, reunifying the country, overcoming the consequences of war, promoting the normalization process and developing Vietnam - US relations over the past many years.

 

Comrade Ngo Le Van provided an overview of the situation in Vietnam, the policies, viewpoints and achievements that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have achieved on the path of building socialism; discussed the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace , friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization and diversification of relations.

The delegation discussed the remarkable developments in Vietnam-US relations since the normalization of diplomatic relations in 1995 to the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023; affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen Vietnam-US relations, implement high-level agreements between the two sides, and further promote friendship and cooperation with left-wing organizations and movements in the US.

 

Representatives of left-wing organizations and movements in the US expressed their joy and deep impression of the achievements that Vietnam has made on the path of building socialism in nearly 40 years of renovation, both domestically and internationally; emphasizing that this is a great source of encouragement for American communists and workers; and at the same time affirmed that they will continue to make efforts to contribute to the development of Vietnam-US relations, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development in the world. American friends also shared information and assessments of the situation and left-wing movements in the US.

At the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue to increase information exchange, promote cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of the United States and between Vietnamese and American people's organizations, contributing to enhancing understanding, friendship, and consolidating the political and social foundation between the two countries.
