Coordinate to arrest ships transporting illegal oil

The leader of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command said: On the afternoon of May 17, 2024, the authorities escorted the ship with registration number BT-99900-TS transporting about 90,000 liters of illegal DO oil of unknown origin to the port of Squadron 301 in Vung Tau city for further investigation and handling according to the law.

Previously, at 5:30 p.m. on May 15, 2024, in the sea area about 120 nautical miles southeast of Con Dao, the functional forces of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command presided over and coordinated with Reconnaissance Group No. 2, Coast Guard Command; Squadron 3, Anti-smuggling Investigation Department, General Department of Customs to inspect the ship BT-99900-TS.

At the time of inspection, there were 4 crew members on board, captained by Mr. Vo Van Tieng (born in 1970, residing in Tan My Chanh, My Tho city, Tien Giang province). According to Mr. Tieng's initial statement, the BT-99900-TS ship was transporting about 90,000 liters of DO oil without invoices or documents proving its legal origin.
